I haven't noticed anyone being mean or petty.

Can I ask, why did you start the thread? Now that the discussion has sort of ended on its own terms, can you describe what you intended by starting it? Did you have some particular idea or questions that prompted it?

you haven't really read the thread well then.

I won't try to speak for SIEQ, but given the corporate structure and culture within the church, I think this is a valid approach to analyzing your relationship with the church. It's one that has been in the back of my head for a several months now, but then I live in a ward where many of the tensions between disaffected, orthodox, and the more faithful that we see here on CUF come to a head just about every Sunday and have boiled over on more than one occasion. It's a strange dynamic that I've never seen (or at least never been aware of) in any other ward.

Petty? Arguable, but yeah probably some pettiness in this thread. But then, petty is what we do best here. That's not saying much to say there is pettiness in a thread. I mean it's kind of petty to accuse someone of pettiness in the first place. And it's even more petty to analyze it like I'm doing here.

Mean? I don't see that anywhere.

That's probably pretty true (mainly because its a boring topic ).

Regarding the "corporate structure" of the church, I realize you're not speaking for SiEQ, and that's the problem. I just want him to tell us what the hell he's talking about.

Donuthole. I was thinking about this a couple of Sundays ago while they were passing the sacrament. Our little family doesn't make it in time for the sacrament very often, so when we do, I tend to be VERY reflective.

Is there any sort of leadership guidelines on the type of bread that should be provided? Do you buy bread, do you buy the normal bread that your family eats and then head over to the Wonder bread section to pick up a loaf for the Sunday saints? It seems like the same crappy white bread gets used at every LDS sacrament meeting that I've ever attended. Am I naive in thinking that people eat better than this in there homes? We're no Orowheat 3-Seed Oatnut family, but we do only buy whole wheat bread. I'd love to donate a loaf of nut and stick bread on a Sunday that I could sit on the stand and watch everyone's reaction.

So, is there a deeper meaning behind the usage of low quality white bread? Is there any guidance that discourages a sacrament that's, say less delightsome?
