It was Day-After-Prom day in my ward today. This is one of my favorite Sundays of the year, because we get to learn so much about our youth (and sometimes about their parents). Why is this? Because they wear their prom attire to church. (Digression: I kind of remember hearing some kids discuss the idea of doing this when I was in high school. I also remember thinking it was ridiculous. Apparently, this "tradition" has really taken root since then. /Digression).
Today we had about a half dozen girls and a similar number of guys wearing their prom wear. Most of the girls were wearing modest frocks that screamed "I have taken my YW lessons very much to heart". Interestingly, two of them are still Miamaids, so evidently they pick and choose which lessons are important. A couple of the girls were wearing somewhat scandalous dresses but had clearly added a sweater to make them slightly more church appropriate. One girl was rocking a tiny little number complete with spaghetti straps and cleavage.
Most of the priests were wearing hideous three-button tuxedos with fluorescent vests and shiny plastic shoes.
Interestingly, the coolest kid in our ward (coolest IMO, anyway: star athlete, good student, humble) didn't wear his tux. Also, the YW with the most going for her (she's not quite the cutest, but she's going to Stanford on scholarship) didn't wear her prom dress.
Is Day-After-Prom Day celebrated elsewhere, or is this a local thing?

Fortunately nobody was injured.
