I put a real hurt on that HC and I'm still amazed how little trouble we got into. One of the guy's girlfriend went in and confessed and he got ex'ed but I can't remember any one from the HC office or even a member of the bishopric talking to any of the other guys. Coming from Ricks it felt like a real grown up college, it's to bad I wasn't at the time.
BYU alums: Did you ever violate the HC while at BYU?

I guess I could have worded the question better. There are the stupid little things, like unshaven, hair too long etc....which of course is minor of all minor infractions.....
What I am talking about I think here, is anything that might have given you a trip to the HC office, had them take any kind of action for discipline etc.
Me? Pre-mission? Yes, there were some behavioral items that would have been of some concern to me with the HC...and the HC with me. Now now...not sexual, get your minds out of the gutters!
Was I caught? No. Were there others aware after...yes. Snitched on...no. HC office ever become aware? Not that I'm aware of.
Me? Post mission? No. I towed the line pretty good after...nothing worthy of sending me to the HC office."Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."
Hmm... Good motivation for me to remain active I guess.

Didn't know that. Add it to my rap sheet.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostAside from not-shaving and having an afro for half my time at the Y, I pretty much followed the Honor Code. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I did violate the Honor Code when I played wingman for my buddy at the Circle Lounge in SLC. I later learned that it was a violation of the HC to even be present at a nightclub where alcohol is served.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

That's news to be as well. I went to many alcohol serving establishments in SLC and other places while a BYU student. During the summer when I went home to work, I played softball for a team sponsored by a bar and went there after every game.Originally posted by nikuman View PostDidn't know that. And I wasn't aware that Mississippi had quite so many LDS. The things you learn on this board.Originally posted by Babs View PostAre there a lot of LDS in Oregon and Arizona? Those two states both have really skewed responses. California I can't figure out.The Holy War is over, and Utah won - Federal Ute

Don't be an ass. There's clearly several factors at play. Looks like you're having a Bible Belt response in a few states. (Either that or marsupial voted a whole bunch.) But you set aside the Bible Belt states and the map looks an awful lot like that Mormontopia map that somebody posted from facebook.Originally posted by Borderline Divine View PostAnd I wasn't aware that Mississippi had quite so many LDS. Uh...my point was that the poll - while entertaining - is clearly nothing more than that.Originally posted by Babs View PostDon't be an ass. There's clearly several factors at play. The map shows the top twelve states with the highest percentage of Mormons, plus three of the four most Baptist states in the country.Originally posted by Borderline Divine View PostUh...my point was that the poll - while entertaining - is clearly nothing more than that.

[QUOTE=Babs;548827]The map shows the top twelve states with the highest percentage of Mormons, plus three of the four most Baptist states in the country.
What the map IS is a graphic illustration of a completely non-scientific, non random online poll from a sports website.
Nobody could possibly take it seriously, nor generate anywhere near the emotion it would require to start name calling based on different interpretations of the "data."
And if you think a majority of people in Mississippi could go a year without drinking, chewing or growing facial hair you are misguided.
This goes triple for California, absent the chewing. The Holy War is over, and Utah won - Federal Ute

Maybe if the HCO was "violated" at the Point of the Mountain..."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

right. I can see how it's not generating any emotion at all. None.Originally posted by Borderline Divine View PostThe map shows the top twelve states with the highest percentage of Mormons, plus three of the four most Baptist states in the country.

so the lack of emotion is why resort to ALL CAPS to make your point, right? lol.Originally posted by Borderline Divine View PostWell, outside of you I don't believe it could.
I do apologize. I had no idea that observing that the vote was falling along Mormon population lines would make anyone so defensive.
