Six months and still no visit. He must be doing some kind of pilot program that the church is getting ready to introduce. I like it so far.

There has been a push toward better use of scarce resources for a while in my stake. I think it's long overdue. I attend a small branch with a lot of welfare needs, so there just isn't time to visit active members who's lives seem to be in some semblence of working order. A lot of those members we just put on a HT route just so they know who they can call on if they have needs they can't meet with family resources. That way people who actually make home teaching visits can focus on the cases of extreme need and those who have no support system. I haven't been home taught in months either and I'm not complaining.
My guess is they're either doing something like that in your stake, or the guy just doesn't have time to visit. Either way works.

We had a good run but it's over, fifteen months without a visit. I just got a call from my new HT and he's already made an appointment.

My HT (he's mine and I'm his) is a counselor in the bishopric and we cut each other a deal. We'll call if we need anything, but otherwise we'll call our visits at church our hometeaching visits. So far so good. Prior to him, I have not had a home teacher assigned in over 10 years.

My good home teaching situation has gotten better. He now comes only 25% of the months, and still only stays 15 minutes when he comes.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostMy Home Teachers are the second counselor in the bishopric, and a youth. I like them because they come about 75% of the months, and stay for about 15 minutes. The only way I would like them better is if they came 50% of the months.
They had an appointment for 7:45 today. At about 7:15, we started having the biggest rain storm we have had in a month or two, very heavy rain with no breaks. At 7:48 I got a call. It was from the youth. He let me know they were out in front of my house, but that they didn't want to get wet, so thought they would just check in "wish us well", and call it a night. I went to the front window, waved at them, and they took off.
All in all, it was a pretty good visit.
