As a people....we have our priorities wrong.

A former member of our SP (15 years ago) passed away last week. His funeral is scheduled for this Saturday.

Our Stake just sent out an e-mail letting everyone know.

They also let everyone know that the family is aware and is understanding that Priesthood leadership wont be in attendance because of the WWLT.

Someone in the ski thread said they saw one at Brighton. They aren't for big vertical drops, better for lighter slope.

If I understand correctly, the WWLT is televised on a loop (at least it was last time they had this which seriously was only like three months ago). There are several times they can open up the church and choose to watch it. I would think they could try to find a time around the funeral.

Although I agree, having the leadership of the church setting the wrong (IMO) example is problematic. More and more people will now think the leadership is crap and won't care for one iota what they say.

I believe this is true, but it is also available online to everyone. So basically these leaders could attend the funeral during the day and then that night watch the WWT on their computer at home. I'm not showing up at the stake center because I have other commitments.

Were these people members of a former stake presidency?

I went to one of a member of a former temple presidency. Every temple president ever for that temple was in attendance and spoke (just 3 of them). It was a great show of love and support for the grieving widow.

Yeah it's being broadcast every two or three hours. The Stake could reschedule their broadcast if they wanted to. I am not sure that it will be online later. I have not seen anything yet regarding that.
