    Using the Church's resources

So who here uses the dumpster at the church when you don't have time to make a run to the county dump? How about personal copies at church?

I used the dumpsters all the time when I cut lawns in Utah. Nowadays, Every time I make a run to Salvation Army if they won't accept what I have I make another run to the church dumpster.

I use the basketball court when I want to play basketball. Why wouldn't I use the dumpster when I need a dumpster?

My wife seems to think that I shouldn't but that doesn't stop me.

So, you would rather that the church pay to get rid of your garbage?

I use the church podium to practice announcing draft picks, should I ever become the commish of a pro sports league.

Does the church pay for each pickup, or do they pay per ton dumped?

I'm told that frequently the removal people charge by weight.

Nah, not for a regular lift-n-tip dumpster. Those trucks aren't equipped to measure the weight added after each dumpster is emptied.

But they might do it by weight if the crhuch has to order a special run, as ours does sometimes when yahoos put their own trash in there and leave no room for the church's trash.
                        PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Sure. I'm sure they'd also charge extra if they had to make additional runs outside the the contracted number per month.

The last time I emptied a carload of crap into a church dumpster, about '99 or so, there were two moving boxes full of porno mags already in there. I assumed somebody 'went to see the bishop' and unloaded quite a collection. And WHAT a collection it was! I only saw the mags on the tops of the boxes because my wife was in the car, but there was some unbelievably kinky shit* in there.

This was essentially pre-internet, but I had something of a 'Two girls, one cup' type of reaction to what I saw. Some things you can't unsee. I quit using the church dumpster after that encounter.

*LITERALLY, if you catch my drift...

Absolutely use the church dumpster from time to time. Did a trash run at Xmas because we had some bags from all the wrapping paper, food, etc.

On balance, church dumpsters are mostly empty throughout the year. They are certainly not being filled weekly with trash from church, anyway.
