This is an interesting question as you would assume that we will be resurrected with the body we had on earth. This is evidenced by the fact that Christ's body was not in the tomb or even the other graves that were opened and people resurrected at that time.

You contrast that with the claims that Joseph Smith was resurrected (many early accounts say he was seen as early as 1847 guiding the saints across the plains and there are accounts that he visited John Taylor around the 1880s while he was in hiding during the polygamy issue). Yet I remember seeing Josephs grave and the coffin has been moved multiple times in the early days of the church.

You are assuming that Celestial fabric can get wet. I can only imagine God has surpassed even Gore-tex.

This thread title reminds me of one of the more memorable EQ discussions of the past decade.

Somehow the topic turned to cloning animals, and then to cloning humans.

The following question was asked, in all sincerity, by a member of the quorum:
"We believe we were created in spirit prior to being created bodily, and that our spirits possess all the traits and appearance of our physical bodies. If a clone is an exact genetic replica of an existing person, will that clone body receive an as-yet unborn spirit who does NOT possess the outward appearance of the physical body? If not, then what spirit will inhabit that body? Will one of Satan's fallen angels inhabit that body? Does the practice of cloning run counter to God's will?" etc, ad nauseum

This is why I believe we are better off sticking with the basic tenets and fundamentals...

I don't think God will put a spirit in a cloned body. As for getting through grave I don't think a ressurected body is bound by laws of nature. Moroni went through the Smith home and did not do any damage, Feet did not touch floor. That is easy we can easily get through a tomb when we are ressurected.

            Moroni was (is) not resurrected.

What spirit, if any, would a cloned body receive?

I bet He will. It's not going to be some soul-less Pinocchio-like creature when it happens. Plus, why not? He puts spirits in all manner of broken, disabled, diseased, and otherwise defective bodies of mankind and our kin creatures on Earth....

Back to the original intention of your post.

I agree that kids and their questions are one of the greatest things in life. They can really keep you on your toes, and teach you things, by making you explain things unconsidered before.

3/5 kids are back in Rexburg and Provo tonight after the Holiday's. The best part of the 2 week vacation was a conversation I had with my 25 year old son in my den. He sat in my recliner, and I sat in my computer chair, and we talked from 11 till 2 in the morning - non stop for 3 hours. I bet that'll never happen again the rest of my life.

                  Good times.

Pre-paid phones expire so if you don't resurrect quickly (usually less than 90 days), your minutes will be void and the phone will die. But if you and your phone were valiant, then you both may resurrect at the same time. Unfortunately, you will still have to purchase new minutes, though.

TD, I have been smiling thinking about your son's question all day. Kids are great aren't they?

Christ, as a resurrected being, could walk through walls, right? I would assume the same would apply to pine boxes and soil...

It would seem Joseph Smith Jr. thought otherwise about Moroni being a resurrected being.

                          From the Elder's Journal - July 1838 - Joseph Smith Jr.,Editor

Moroni, the person who deposited the plates, from whence the book of Mormon was translated, in a hill in Manchester, Ontario County, New York, being dead, and raised again therefrom, appeared unto me, and told me where they were; and gave me directions how to obtain them. I obtained them and the Urim and Thummim with them; by the means of which I translated the plates and thus came the book of Mormon.

So by your interpretation, Lazarus was a resurrected being?
