"Bishop do you think I need a haircut? What are your feelings on pinstripe shirts? Technically it's a white shirt, but do the stripes make it inappropriate? Do you think it's okay to grow a mustache? Is it okay to buy gas on Sunday? Is green tea against the Word of Wisdom?" Your poor Bishop.

I knew it was a horrible idea for my wife's grandparents to invest $250,000 with their Stake President only to see it disappear a few weeks later. It looked fishy, but they were convinced because of his calling. God called him so he must be a righteous man and would never rip them off.

    D & C 121:36-37 confirms my viewpoint.
Ha. You obviously have no idea what that scripture says.

I do appreciate the personal attack. Glad to see that moderators are ok with these.

So let me educate your dumbass. Obviously you are your grandparents grandson/daughter.

I was expressing the point that you can't simply accept or dismiss a bad idea based on your initial reaction. That is why personal revelation and d&c 121 are so important. If a leader is promoting ideas that are self-aggrandizing or exercise unrighteous dominion then the Spirit will not be felt in earnest seeking of confirmation.

Unlike your stupid ass, I try to overcome the natural man and fight knee jerk reactions to priesthood leaders' ideas/counsel and earnestly seek to understand their intent purpose through prayer. You are obviously so much smarter that you can skip right to the decision without these unnecessary steps.

    Congrats, asshole.

It appears that you attended the Rocky Balboa school of religious instruction.

Did not our heart burn within us, while SloanHater talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

With your multiple barnyard epithets and an apparent fixation on things anal, I'm wishing you all the best in your efforts.

Am I the only one to get SloanHater to admit that he is wrong? I used to think that was a petty thing but now I'm thinking of wearing it like a badge of honor.

In the history of the world I don't think a more ironic post exists.

This would fit nicely next to The Proclamation to the Family in my entry way.

I'd be willing to put that in my sig pic if you can find the post where he admitted he was wrong. Those pictures of Nessy and the Yeti must also be attached.

                • I'm enjoying sloanhater in this thread. We don't get his kind on CUF too much. It will be interesting to see whether his views soften over time or whether these discussions become too frustrating and he bows out or blows up. I hope you stick around this discussions, SH.

Kindly show me where I stated I would dismiss a leaders counsel with no thought. Here is what I said:
The method of receiving the inspiration isn't important to me. The source is. If the Stake President is sharp and can think of good ideas, I would certainly think about them. I'm not so hard-headed as to dismiss a good idea for no reason. I also wouldn't have any problem not following him if I didn't like it.
You then told me my problem is that I think I would know what a horrible idea is. This implies that I am too stupid to think for myself. God gave all of us brains. Brains aren't only given out to people in leadership positions. I choose to actually think about things I'm told rather than "bow my head and say yes". If you never think about counsel given, you would never recognize if someone was exercising unrighteous dominion.

Oh, by the way, you should check with your bishop to find out if it's okay to quote scripture and swear in the same post. I'm thinking it's probably not appropriate, but I haven't heard my bishops opinion yet. Once he tells me that, I will fast and pray for a few weeks before I decide.

It's was a mere correction of a technicality, but I'll take it.

That picture is way too blurry and could easily be a fake. Snarrwars could photoshop that in 30 seconds. I remain unimpressed.

That's quite the rant. I like the effort to include scriptures, personal attacks, and profanity in one post. I recommend using multiple types of profanity to increase the readability and diversity of your post. it would also help if you improved your profane syntax. For example, the first "dumbass" should be written "dumb ass." You are pointing out that his ass is dumb, not that he is a dumbass. You did better with "stupid ass" but it sounded redundant. This board's population likes to use the "F-word" if possible in a tirade. If I were you I would have gone with "If you weren't such a stupid fuck you would realize that ..." instead of "Unlike your stupid ass," I think it would have read much better. Finally, "asshole" at the end sounds redundant again. I would have gone with "shit-head" for pure diversity purposes.

Good luck with your next angry rant.

I was referring to his apology. Too vague and what's more, how interest is handled for tax purposes doesn't fall within the guidelines I've set forth for "apologizeable" offenses. (It's a moving target to be sure )
