Mandatory 12-month military service in W. Germany was established in 1956. By 1959, young men turning 18 were required to register and serve. DFU was born in 1940 and started his service in the German Air Force in 1959.

That’s good news. I can’t wait for the temple and family history leader calling to also be open to women.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Our ward circumvented this by calling a sister as a TFH consultant and not having a TFH leader. So she is the de facto leader.

I told my wife a little while ago she now has access to the most coveted church calling: Sunday School 2nd Counselor. She said she was going to put her name in for consideration.

How about an all male Primary Presidency?

What's with the 'all male' or 'all female' presidencies? Surely the risk of intrapresidential hookups is low. How often to SS presidencies even meet together?

                    Yeah, that part is dumb.

                    • In the church's defense, when I was the Sunday School President at BYU I tried to convince my bishop that I could call a girl into the presidency as it wasn't a priesthood office, and one of my main motivations is that I thought she was cute.

Bishop didn't buy my argument, but probably wished he had, since I ended up marrying his niece.

                        • In addition to EQ instructor, I've been SS President for 2-3 years but have never had a counselor---just as well as I'm confident I never would have held a presidency meeting and there's nothing to do most of the time anyway. My greatest accomplishment is getting the bishop and ward generally to refer to me as the Commissioner of Education, after they passed on "Ward Sage." But I can see now it's time to pass the torch to the womenfolk, and I am happy to retire.

Sure, it's all dumb until you find out that your Male SS Pres has used his position to impregnate both of his female counselors because they were inexplicably drawn to the intoxicating allure his mantle of power exuded, almost like that of a powerful pheromone to an animal. You wanna just wait until there are several dozen of these such cases in Utah alone over the next 2-3 months?

Well, you can say one thing about the SS Presidents.. they know how to find and push the button for the bell.

However it must be said in my ward, teachers always dismiss on time or earlier so I haven't pushed the bell button in over a year, although I was sorely tempted to do last week during a painfully long HC talk.
