No, but a U of U diploma will work in a pinch.

You only just learned this? I've been hearing this for years.

                  • The fast Sunday before the 4th of July should be ripe with material for this thread, I hope I'm not the only one who steps up and shares.

One brother had proof that the Utah Attorney General's office is working to undermine the Constitution. He was settling a lawsuit against the state and wanted the AG to include a declaration that he promised to uphold the Constitution. The AG's office refused. Busted!!!

We also had a great humblebrag when a sister began her testimony by expressing gratitude that her great-great grandfather wrote the opening hymn, the Star Spangled Banner.

so her great-great grandfather was Francis Scott Key? She must be pretty old to have that close a relationship with him.

                      • The bishop opened with the "constitution will hang by a thread and the Elders of the church will step in and save the country..."

I might have missed a "great" or two, but she is about 80.

that would likely be enough to do it with just the two greats. Key died in 1843 and he had children that lived into the 1880s. Seeing as how my great great grandfather was born in 1804, it's entirely possible that she's only four generations from Key.

Yeah, my great-great-great grandfather is a semi famous Mormon (not GA) and I'm not very old.
