Yep. So funny that a guy who works for the Church goes to the website and makes a comment like that.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostAmen. If the chuch has to hire more data processors, so be it. Faithful local members are burdened enough.

I wonder why the Church hasn't rolled out online tithing payment more openly and aggressively though. Probably because they think the peer pressure and handing those envelopes straight to the Bishopric member is part of what makes the system work.

In Japan it's all done via postal transfer, or a least was (mbn, can you confirm?). We found this out the hard way.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostYep. So funny that a guy who works for the Church goes to the website and makes a comment like that.

I learned, from a guy who didn't want to go to a family members funeral because it was held at a Baptist church, that the only difference between Baptists and Mormons is that they drink coffee and have bbq grills at church. If true, I may have attended my last sacrament meeting today.

This should be the Baptists' greatest anti-Mormon proselyting tool.Originally posted by ewth8tr View PostI learned, from a guy who didn't want to go to a family members funeral because it was held at a Baptist church, that the only difference between Baptists and Mormons is that they drink coffee and have bbq grills at church. I'm missing stake conference today because I always miss it. Ever since the time I tried to go because everyone was making a deal out of it and I got there and there were no seats for me and the ushers were useless. I figured God saved the spots for those who need it most and left.Originally posted by nikuman View PostStake conference pressure again from the stake - this time a letter from the stake read from the pulpit. They harder they put on the full court press, the more I will go somewhere with the family.

My wife just told me that we don't have church in a few weeks because it is SC! I love her more and more each day.Originally posted by nikuman View PostStake conference pressure again from the stake - this time a letter from the stake read from the pulpit. My wife and I were both raised in families that faithfully attended stake conference and made it a point not only to be there but to sit in the soft chairs. After moving into our current home and attending stake conference twice where the SP literally gave the exact same talk (he had a reason, can't remember), my wife suggested that we go visit some of the local museums on those days instead of being bored to death for two hours. It didn't help that after fighting our kids the whole time they all threw fits when they found out they couldn't go to primary afterward (Originally posted by FN Phat View PostMy wife just told me that we don't have church in a few weeks because it is SC! they view that as a reward for getting through sacrament meeting). I too love my wife more and more each day.

HP lesson today on how we in the church believe in absolute truth and the rest of the world is going to hell in a handbasket, what with all the gay stuff and whatnot.

I almost eviscerated a high counselman today. Sense got the better of me, but I nearly threw my chalk at him and told him to finish the lesson. My wife was laughing at him out loud because he was so obnoxious.
Same guy who had the stake conference sustaining a couple of weeks ago.
I am legitimately afraid that something will come of this.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.
