Yeah, one of those books is the "#1 best seller in mormonism" on amazon...

I think it's a chicken egg thing. That is, was he a douchebag before he became a facilities rep or did the position make him a douche bag?

I'm inclined to believe the former and that douchebags are drawn to positions where they can fully explore their douchiness.

      • I spoke with my son last night. He went to stake conference in Dallas and when he was in the foyer he saw one of the new converts from their ward smoking an e-cigarette.

I've wondered how I'd handle those if I was a bishop. My wife hates it when I tell her that I'd give a recommend to a marijuana smoker if I was a bishop in Colorado...so I remind her every chance I get.

I could imagine the conversation with the missionaries went something like this...

18 year-old elder from Utah: "You have given up smoking, right?"

Prospective convert: "Yeah... I just suck vapors from my e-hookah now. No more smoking for me. (Takes a puff.)"

18 year-old elder: "Let me see that. This is pretty cool. Where do I get one of these? How about that? No smoke but water vapor. So we'll get the baptismal font filled up and get you dunked this weekend."

Some more on that crazy Julie Rowe lady... this really deserves its own thread. Here is a transcript from a talk or interview she gave:

              http://www.nofearpreps.com/julie-rowe-transcript.html

              Some highlights:

Bigfoot is real... SoCal will be so happy:
              Q: How about Yeti?

My kids asked about this because Bigfoot is near and dear to them. So for the people who want to criticize and explain me away as some crazy lady, I’m going to give you some ammunition: do some research on Bigfoot.

              Q: So it’s real, then?

I think if someone was to research it, they could come to that answer themselves. That’s just a funny little tidbit that is not part of my mission and can distract, so we don’t want to focus on it.

Honestly, any truth that the Lord wants us to know, no matter what it is, He will make it known to us. Anything that’s scientific, non-falsified true science, goes hand in hand with true doctrine.

The last two elections were rigged... that SoB Obama:
Q: We have a presidential election coming up in 2016. There has been much speculation over things that are going on in our government right now, and the fact that the last election was stolen. There may not even be an actual election. Do you have any comment on that?

Correction, the last two elections were stolen. When you are invited to gather, you need to join. Don’t delay. I have been shown some of that and I need to be careful how I say this so my words are not misconstrued. My understanding is that martial law will be declared after the gathering.
We're all going to get CHIP implants by the government at gun point...
Q: The government has been buying millions of rounds of ammo and supplying their own workers with it, as though they are preparing for an internal war. Will Martial Law be declared in the U.S.? Will it be declared in Utah? Will there be a dirty nuclear weapon used in Utah? Will people be put to death at some point if they don’t take the CHIP implant?

The answer is yes to all of those. They are real and they are going to happen.

Familiarize yourself with the story of the saints in Haun’s Mill. It is a type of things to come. First, the saints did not listen to the prophet, and then they were deceived by the mill’s owner. The saints asked the owner to have his messenger ask the prophet whether they should stay at the mill, and the prophet said to leave the mill and return to Far West, but the messenger lied to them and said the prophet said to stay and they would be fine. Then they were all massacred by a mob in disguise, who arrived under the guise of bringing a peacekeeping treaty to coexist. Their technique was to say, for your own safety and welfare, and as a sign of cooperation with us (the local leaders), hand over your arms. The majority did, and the mob massacred everyone including the women and children.

Again, that is a type for what we will experience. Do not give up your arms, and recognize that we will have places of safety. The majority of these travails will occur after we have been invited to gather, and those that heed the counsel will be protected from that type of chaos.
Wait... did she say something about guns? Maybe she is not so crazy after all.

                I agree, I don’t have stewardship.
So... why are you going public with your revelations about the entire membership of the church?

No, she's crazy. The transcript also includes a shout-out to essential oils.

                      perhaps even . . . ironic.

Ha. I considered posting an update last week. I'm pretty sure that the $45k includes all the hot dogs for future ward activities held under the pavilion.
