  • I learned that tattoos are about 8 inches lower when you turn 45 as opposed to when you got it at 21.

I never get breakfast on Sunday now. I had a Diet Coke and an old protein bar.

Are you more of a visual learner?

I read email on my iPad at breakfast. If you email me scriptures I'll read them.

            • What's with giving the primary kids hand gestures to perform their songs to in the primary presentation? I'm not talking ASL, or even baby signs. These are just random gestures for every fifth word or so in the song. "sun," "listen" "shhhh" "baby" "love." Like a half-assed caucasian hula.

                • Primary is 1000 times better than sitting through SS and EQ.

Maybe my ward just has terrible SS and EQ teachers.

Regardless, kids are great. I substituted for the 6-7 year old class, and they were enthralled with the parable of the Good Samaritan. Never had a bad experience teaching Primary.

Youth Sunday School, on the other hand...

Substitute? If that is your experience with Pri, I can see why you think how you do.

That's fair. I may very well feel differently if I did this every week.

I think there are plenty of people on the board, myself included, who have taught primary for extended periods of time and still think it is the best place in the church to be.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. That's been my favorite calling since I've been in a family ward.

If someone tried to forcibly restrain my DS daughter at church, I'd end up tazed and in cuffs.
Sitting with the Sunbeams through sharing time is brutal. 20 minutes of gospel instruction followed by 20 minutes of singing time after a 40 minute class time is nearly unbearable for these 3 and 4 year olds.

It's easy to break up the 40 minutes of class time. Take walks. Get a drink. Play a game. Color. Sing. Whatever. But those 40 minutes of sharing time are AWFUL with those kids being forced to sit in the same spot the entire time.

                              • I learned that there is another BYU fan with the same priorities I have in my EQ. This guy recently moved in to our ward so I don't know him very well. But we were discussing an upcoming EQ activity in a couple weeks. This guy raised his hand and says but BYU is playing Wisconsin that day. When the EQP asked what time the game was and he says it hasn't been determined yet because of TV I felt the spirit.
