It's not the fit, it's the material. Has some kind of space-age wicking qualities to it, breathes better, etc. On my mission I wore the old nylon one-piecers. Comfortable, but like wearing a windbreaker jacket when it was hot.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostUnder armour material? I don't know what it is about the 100% cotton that I don't like. Its probably because it gets so stretched out and deformed so quickly. Then it bunches up weird under the armpits. This is with the scoop neck though, I don't think i've ever had a crew neck that was 100% cotton so I don't know if they get deformed as bad.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostIt's not the fit, it's the material. There are a variety of choices these days and the nice folks at the garment shops are very good at explaining your options. The next time I go I think I'll buy a set of several types just to test them out.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostI don't know what it is about the 100% cotton that I don't like. Maybe I'll do the same. I'll try the mesh and see what they are like. I kind of have an aversion to them because thats what my dad always wears (a one piece).Originally posted by LA Ute View PostThere are a variety of choices these days and the nice folks at the garment shops are very good at explaining your options. I'm not expert on this, but they're not really mesh. It's actually a much cooler fabric than that (literally and figuratively).Originally posted by USU Coug View PostMaybe I'll do the same. By the way, at this moment I am sitting on an airplane, typing away on a sports message board about the latest in LDS garment fabrics. There's something really incongruous yet wonderful about that combination of activities and topics.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

In mid-flight? I've always wanted to do that. Screw the flight attendants!Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI'm not expert on this, but they're not really mesh. It's actually a much cooler fabric than that (literally and figuratively).

More and more airlines are offering in-flight wi-fi. I'm on Alaska. Virgin does it and I hear Delta is starting. It's absolutely the coolest thing that's happened in airline travel since ... I don't know what.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostIn mid-flight? I've always wanted to do that. USU, let me be the first to welcome you to the blast furnace.
Actually, it hasn't been too hot here yet. I don't think it even hit 100 today.
For Gs, I usually wear the silky bottoms and the full cotton crewneck tops. With a t-shirt I'll probably wear a cotton scoop neck. No way would I wear cotton bottoms in Vegas.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I think all i have are cotton bottoms. I have had the luxury of being picky with garments in this climate. I don't like bulky (which is what I associate with 100% cotton) and I prefer scoops when I wear t-shirts and crew with anything collared. I'm sure when I get in 110 degree weather some of my annoyances will dissappear. I'm still relatively new to garments and haven't had much time to experiment.Originally posted by falafel View PostUSU, let me be the first to welcome you to the blast furnace.

The mesh tend to pull at the leg hairs a bit, and can lead to some discomfort. Not fashion discomfort mind you, just general discomfort.Originally posted by USU Coug View PostMaybe I'll do the same. Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Yeah mesh is out if you are at all hairy. I don't do cotton because in the summer in a state that is very humid that just means you are going around in soggy underwear. Its the same reason you don't run in a cotton shirt. Until they make garments out of the wicking material they making running clothes out of, the silkies come the closest. Yes, it is going to be stuck to you some of the time when it is hot, but cotton is hotter/wetter.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostThe mesh tend to pull at the leg hairs a bit, and can lead to some discomfort. The fabric I like is not mesh - it's some kind of special blend and weave, and quite suitable for the hirsute. The very nice folks at the distribution center can explain it all. I don't know the name.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostThe mesh tend to pull at the leg hairs a bit, and can lead to some discomfort.
