  • Meet Representive Cecil Ash, BYU Grad and Idiot Extraordinaire

This interview was a little like shooting fish in a barrel. I think he should lose his recommend over this:

This is all becoming very clear now... The real reason Arizona passed the immigration bill is so they could legally detain President Obama and question him about his birth certificate.

"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.

He's terrible at answering questions. In fact, he'd make Palin look like a great candidate.

That being said, I see no issue with requiring someone to prove they meet the qualifications for a job. The timing of the bill is obviously in response to the birther claims, but if they would have structured the bill to be effective for the next election cycle (which they might have) then you automatically eliminate the idea that it's partisan idea to get Obama.

If Bro Ash would have simply stated that he believes that Obama is a natural born citizen instead of dodging the question multiple times the interview would have taken a much different turn. Of course, the fact that he dodged the question so much pretty much proves that he is a birther.

My first employer checked to see that I did in fact graduate with the degrees that I had listed on my resume. They also checked to make sure I was legal to work in the United States. I have no issue with forcing someone to prove they meet qualifications as long as it is applied to all candidates.

Could you please explain why you think this thread should be in the Foyer?

I read this article last week that dovetails nicely with this appearance. This is just a way of saying I am with you to the birthers without saying that you personally are a birther. This way you kowtow to the birthers and continue to cast doubt all while not personally believing in an outlandish conspiracy theory.

This is in the Foyer because I think he shouldn't have a recommend. He isn't being honest with his fellow men and women. First he says that Obama is a US citizen, and then he comes back repeatedly to imply that he might not be a US citizen.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are joking. There is nothing in our church/culture that is lamer than insisting that someone shouldn't have a recommend.

How many other people are we going to highlight that shouldn't have temple recommends? Can we include current CUF members?

Is "lamer" a word? I request a ruling from one of you grammar nazis.

There's nothing more lame than being forced to make two words out of "lamer".

OK, it was a simple mistake. I realized it should have been in the Water Cooler right after I posted it.

This thread belongs in the Foyer. Like Hallelujah, what is most resonant to this guy about our president is that Obama is a black man and allegedly was born in Africa. This has a lot to do with this guy's religion and where and (granted) when he was educated.
