In all seriousness, I very strongly disagree with his politics, but I have a lot of respect for Senator Reid. This is a man who has spent his entire life swimming against the stream of expectations to do what he thought was right. He bucked against family trends to get an education, against societal inhibitions to join the LDS church, and against LDS cultural restraints to be a democrat. He has shown a lot of courage in the face of pressures under which others would cave.
