Isn't that what good Mormons do, take church principals and make money from them? That is why we worship Covey isn't it? I know it isn't because his son was a sucky QB.

Some of the replies in his thread make me feel creepy
"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."
"It's no secret that the great American pastime is no longer baseball. Now it's sanctimony." -- Guy Periwinkle, The Nix.

I resent it when people accuse TM of making stuff up.

If I had to pick a model, the Heartland one is more in line with what I think could work, but I'm deliberately ignorant in these matters.

I like this response the best. It really bugs me when people need physical evidence to confirm their inner promptings.

It's like what Jacob said in last weeks episode of LOST. "Why should I have to convince people to do what is right."

On a similar topic, does anyone know the relationship between the alpha and delta quadrants? I'm wondering how Voyager was able to get from the delta quadrant to the alpha quadrant without passing through the beta or gamma quadrants or meeting up with any klingons or romulans. Thanks in advance.

People have "inner promptings" about all sorts of evil, not to mention mutually contradictory, things. Why would would it bug you if some people use physical evidence to guide them?

I'm not keeping up with Lost, but what Jacob said is dumb. If you can't convince people, then it's probably not right. Even if you can, billions of people have been convinced of despicable things presented under the guise of being "right".

Just so we're clear: I haven't accused "TM of making stuff up." To my knowledge, he has never claimed to have a photographic memory, although it has been popularly attributed to him (and even by Elder Holland, in GC).

What makes you so sure that it didn't?

Because at one point they find themselves "on the edge of the alpha quadrant" while still being in the delta quadrant! Clearly the two are next to each other. Presumably they have to travel around the middle of the galaxy, so presumably the beta and gamma quadrants are just elsewhere on the galaxy disc. Also, they never make it clear that the worm hole next to DS9 that connects the alpha and gamma quadrants wouldn't have been a closer trip had they set out that direction. Should we presume that the astrometrics laboratory on board voyager considered that possibility before setting out for the alpha quadrant?

Maybe I should start organizing conferences about this.

I was just joking because I always get accused of making stuff up. I totally think that TM makes stuff up.

That assumes, of course, that what the US Government has been telling us about the spacecraft is true.
