I've been asked to give the opening prayer tomorrow in Sacrament meeting. If I said "bless us this Super Sunday" would that be out of line?

I'll give you a dollar if you ask that the participants can play to the best of their abilities and that no harm or accident may befall them.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

Just make sure that you bless that no harm or accident will come upon the players and ask that they will play to the best of their ability."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I've always wondered how the prayers are received before a downhill mountain biking ward event when we are preparing to go screaming down hill recklessly on a rocky trail at 30mph.Originally posted by scottie View PostI wonder what the history is on "no harm or accident" in Mormon culture.
I also wouldn't dream of not blessing the pizza and doughnuts at youth activities.

Don't forget to ask that both sides play with good sportsmanship and that all those who couldn't make it this time will come next time. That covers both the players and the members who stayed home to watch“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Since tomorrow is Fast Sunday, why limit these affirmations to prayer. You can bear your testimony on keeping one's eyes on the goal line, blocking the advances of the enemy, intercepting the fiery darts of the wicked, etc.Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
