because surely there could never be an overlap between progmos and bigots. the mean stuff must have all been posted by all of john dehlin's conservative, orthodox facebook friends.

You clearly did not. It was horrible. The stuff that was shared should have been kept silent by the bigots in public and worked through in private therapy sessions.
For example, one really lovely individual decided to post how we have an autism epidemic in Utah because women aren't being properly taught to shun potential autistic partners. Then the women breed with the autistic people that should apparently be resigned to a life of solitude and bring more autistic people in to the world.
He basically gave a forum for bigots to express bigotry and they went full out.

Ha, as if these people had no forum to share their bigotry until John Dehlin let them post on his facebook wall.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostHe basically gave a forum for bigots to express bigotry and they went full out.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Absolutely disagree with this statement. Lots of progmos and ex-mos do not leave the patriarchy behind when they leave the church. They remain firmly entrenched in it and every bit the misogynistic assholes they were in while in the church. Other bigotry as well doesn't seem to leave with leaving the church either.Originally posted by old_gregg View Postbecause surely there could never be an overlap between progmos and bigots. the mean stuff must have all been posted by all of john dehlin's conservative, orthodox facebook friends.Last edited by MartyFunkhouser; 06-06-2016, 06:30 PM.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Yes it was deleted.Originally posted by jay santos View PostWas the thread deleted?
Sure they absolutely had a forum to do that before Dehlin made his incredibly ill-advised request. However, with there ex-mo/prog-mo prophet giving them direction, it really helped some people let their bigotry out in the open.Originally posted by falafel View PostHa, as if these people had no forum to share their bigotry until John Dehlin let them post on his facebook wall.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

If you think I was making light or trying to defend JD in any regard, let me spare you, I wasn't. I merely state what happened, but your persecution complex got in the way.

Lots of progmos and ex-mos do not leave the persecution complex behind when they leave the church. They remain firmly entrenched in it and every bit the hypersensitive nancies they were in while in the church. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

That's because those quirks aren't church-related quirks but are instead human quirks. We all have them but exmos tend to focus on active mos church related persecution when in reality they have their own non-church related persecutions.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLots of progmos and ex-mos do not leave the persecution complex behind when they leave the church. Lol. Reminds me of the one time I made a joke about Bronco and Kyle's respective uses of allotted bowl practices with a comparison to the allegory of the wagon drivers and the cliff edge. I think pellegrino took it literally and asked where I got my information.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
