    Ouch.

I am a party animal, sister. You must have anti-engineer bias.

And you are an engineer too.

Huh. I sense a trend here.

This isn't a thread about callings. If we need a separate thread about church callings, please create one so we can continue this discussion.

If Lingo needs any help moderating the board, I'm sure he'll ask for your help.

We always go. My kids LOVE going and it's great to have something to do with the family.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

We went to the christmas party last night.

Our 2 year old is just the wrong age for something like that. In a year will be better, but right now you can't just let him run around. He gets into trouble.

I fixed that for you. There is no need to make an excuse for doing something that you enjoy.

Just got back from ours. I was wearing some authentic garb from Kazakhstan for my wise man outfit. I was burning up as it was some this leather robe lined with wool and I had a wool tuk on my head. They actually transformed the gym to look like Bethlegym. They had carts and kiosks set up with vendors offering different things to eat and such. Everyone brought cans of food (our taxes) after which we signed the 'census' and were given some money (hand stamped coins) to purchase dinner with. They did a Luke 2 reading with silent actors on the stage and some hymns sung by a choir. It was pretty nice. I had to miss the SEC title game but it was fun.

The only downer was that they told everyone to bring blankets to sit down on in the gym. They had a tent up with chairs and they called everyone in the ward prior to the activity asking if they'd need a chair or not. Since Gidget is 7 months pregnant we reserved one. However her name was on the list with my father's name who wasn't in attendance and this confused the hell out of these two old bags who were assigned as chair nazis. If your name wasn't on the list you didn't get a seat. I guess they were trying their best to be the poor innkeepers denying Mary in Bethlehem. Anyway, since my father wasn't there they gave his seats away. They had about 15 empty chairs. They finally told her she could have a chair but me and our toddler couldn't sit with her. So Gidget said she'd rather sit with her family on the floor than sit alone in a chair. One of the nazis piped up as soon as she heard this and said, "Great we can give your seat to someone else."

F that. You should have just walked around and entered the gym from the other side and grabbed a folding chair. There is no way that should have happened. You are too nice.
