  • Do you have women in your ward who wear pant suits to church?

I don't think I've ever seen a woman wear a pant suit or dress slacks + blouse to LDS church services in my life. I attend church without a tie about 25% of the time and the only person who's ever given me flak about it has been my wife; do you think a woman wearing a pant suit to your ward would get the same non-chastisement as the non-tie-wearing me has gotten? or do you think a priesthood guy in your ward would say something to her?

    Pants? Yes.
    Pant Suits? No.

    Tank tops? Yes.
Strapless or thin strapped dresses? No.
Everything in life is an approximation.

Our Bishop's wife in a prior ward wore a pant suit or dress slacks almost every week.

She worked in the nursery and said it was the only practical thing to wear -- that made sense to me. But she was a pretty liberal-minded person and a convert. I always wondered if one of the reasons she worked in the nursery was so she wouldn't have to sit through the classes.

My ward's median age is about 50. I'd venture that it wouldn't go over well. I quit wearing a dress shirt to church in March, save a couple of exceptions (I wear a white guayabera instead), and they extended a call to me yesterday, so I think that I'm slowly effecting a change.

I like it! That should be the uniform of the Priesthood.

We have two sisters in our ward who wear pants to church. They are both filipino. I'm not really sure what that means.

If they have kankles then I would say a pant suit is more then okay.

I could be wrong, but I think it means they're from the Philippines.

                  And it is cankle (calf+ankle=cankle)

I'm no doctor. I have a hard time with the correct spelling of all these medical terms.

                          Church? Yes.

We have sisters wearing pants suits to Church. I think the feeling against such things is dying out. Generational issues shouldn't be given doctrinal weight.

I think it probably depends on the geographic location. I'm fairly certain that a woman in a pants suit in our ward would be looked upon with a large degree of disdain. This probably contributes to why I've never seen a woman in pants in our ward.

I personally don't think it's a big deal, any more than wearing colored dress shirts or no tie. But I'm uncertain it would be treated as such.
