Dude how old are you? What a weird thing to say. Why would any of us have changed what we think about dinosaurs and age of the earth, etc between 2009 to 2016?
Probably because he has!

Do you really think this or is this a joke? I know it was a popular theory when my dad was growing up but I though most people had discarded it by now.
*edit. I just realized this post and most of this thread are from 2009. I'm sure your take on this matter has changed since then.

This is easy. 6,000 years ago when God created the earth, he took it from pieces of other planets where dinosaurs had previously existed.
My mother in law believes this.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
My grandparents did also. I wonder which church leader(s) propagated this idea.
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon
Yes indeed. But a different, more plausible angle.

I for one think the earth is at least four years older than it was in 2009. Possibly even five or as much as six.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. -- Arthur Schopenhauer

Well, because you're religious people. And some of your opinions are molded by what your religious leaders teach. I bought the whole "pieces of other planets" concept as a teenager because my dad said that's what he thought and what the fuck did I know? Then I read Joseph Fielding Smith's take on that (death did not exist for humanity or for any other living things before the fall) and I determined my dad was misinformed. Then I came home and went to college (BYU no less ) and of course read some books and now I think every last bit of all of Mormonism is bullshit.
I just figured maybe this guy never read Jospeh Fielding Smith. I'm just stunned that any Mormon would still believe that idea. But I guess I should never be stunned.

Bear with us, TKD. A few more posts and you should be able to pull us out of our pathetic ignorant state and we can enjoy the enlightenment that you have found.
