Why? It's just the production of more sugar. It's not like I eat the thing straight, all sticky on my hands and such. I will remind you that I am the same guy who used to drink raw milk as a kid - straight from the teat.

(Note: I squirted into my mouth from a distance of a couple of feet. I did not actually suckle. That would have been a bit much).

Which one is disturbing you more - the ripe banana or the chest shaving? Because you know I'll work one or the other into the Blue River Shootout, special for you.

whoa! did it just get warm in here?

I can't stand black bananas. I don't even like them yellow.

As far as shaving goes, I hang with cyclists, so it's all good.

Out of context, this is an odd statement.

Wow, niku. That sounds nasty (and definitely not worth 600 calories...) but I may have to try it sometime. Just to say I did.

My recovery drink--chocolate milk, chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast, or chocolate Slimfast.

I have read and heard multiple times that lowfat chocolate milk is about as good as it gets when it comes to recovery drinks.

I do use my shake as a semi-meal replacement. That is, I usually don't have a very large dinner, so it is almost like a fourth meal.

1 cup of lowfat (1%) milk is a great snack. The balance of carbs, protein and fat is just right to keep insulin levels balanced so you don't get hungry again.

Your shake seems pretty carb-heavy. Do you know how many grams of protein are in your two scoops?

Yeah, I've read that a few places too, and since I'm a fan of chocolate milk, I'm on board. I used Slimfast instead on Ragnar because I wasn't sure how much cooler space we had.

I'll give yours a try though--spinach is superfood and I try to work it in wherever I can stand it. If you wreck my blender, I'm sending you a bill.

23 if I use one scoop, 46 if I use two. One or two depends on what my protein intake for the day has been.

The shake is intentionally carb heavy because I have trouble getting enough carbs during the day.

Drop the frozen strawberries and the ice if you are worried. Frozen berries are a great way to destroy blenders.

I remember during fall camp last year they were interviewing one of the U players after practice and he was chugging a chocolate milk. They talked about it for a couple of minutes and mentioned that it was supposed to help with recovery.

My son was in the car with me and decided he needed chocolate milk after every practice too.

I have been making my kids "Earth Day" smoothies lately and they really like them:

                          vanilla yogurt
                          frozen pineapple
                          steamed and pureed spinach
                          milk

You really can't taste the spinach and they love the brilliant green color the spinach adds.

I was at a work party last week and somebody ordered a "kiwi lemonade." The stuff was the color of mashed peas babyfood. Something about drink green sludge leave me cold.

I am just happy to see my kids ingesting spinach.

Still laughing. I'd follow up the beverage with a meal of Oysters n' Raisins.

But I may actually try the beverage as I've got a lifesized poster of the new Nikuman on the wall of my exercise room; one can't argue with results.
