  • An accidental find...

Was at ikea a couple weeks ago and found something remarkable. They had these hotdogs (frankfurters actually with natural casings) frozen of all things, and expensive as far as hotdogs usually go 2.5 lbs cost $12 From an American producer from Florida (Geier's Meats). But they LOOKED right, so i got em.

From someone who knows what a good hotdog tastes like (German mission, German wife), these things are fabulous. I asked the guy at ikea if they are a regular item or if thy were a one-time buy, and his reply was a non-committal 'we've had them for a while.' I'm running over there right now specifically to get hotdogs. Hopefully they'll still have them.

They're the best us hotdog I've had in the stats since enjoying Hummel hotdogs in new haven, ct a couple decades ago.

Now if I can find someone that sells real maultaschen or landjaeger.

Speaking of Hot dogs... I stopped at Costco yesterday, and got a hot dog. I don't think I'd had a coscto dog for more than a year. It was like seeing an old friend in the Temple.

Costco lunches are always a good idea. Hotdog and drink for $1.50, can't beat it.

Costco is a great lunch option. It is close to work and I go there frequently. Sadly, I have never fun into my good friend cougjunkie during these lunches.

Seems very wasteful. But then isn't that the way college kids are wont to be?

I can't believe Costco can still pull off that $1.50 deal after all these years. I think they moved away from Hebrew National a few years ago so they could keep that price.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

A Costco Connection mag explained a few years ago that they got the dogs from Sinai Kosher which was a Sara Lee company. But that plant shut down so they went private label. They've been selling that combo for $1.50 since 1985. Last year they sold 109 million $1.50 combo meals. Also, starting April 1, all Costco's will be selling Pepsi products in the food court. Pepsi won the bid over Coke.

I know some people complained about the taste after the change but I like them just fine. Also interesting from that issue was the bulgogi bake. Did anyone have one of these in a test market? That sounds awesome. Their new sandwhich melt they sell on their torta is really good. I also love their dipped ice cream bar with almonds. Mmmmmm.

I kind of hate myself after I eat them, but so good!

I would love to try a bulgogi bake. They stopped doing the carne asada bake at our costco last year. I liked it better than the chicken bake. They said that it just didn't sell well.

Yes, the turkey pesto sandwiches are very good.
