  • Girl Scout Cookies

I just received my first batch of Girl Scout cookies. (I like to spread my orders out among Girl Scouts to appear less gluttonous and still get a year's supply of Samoas.)

New Dulce de Leche cookies? Thumbs down. Butterscotch is not dulce de leche. Fortunately, I only ordered the one box before committing to a new cookie.

I'm less adventurous than you. Thin Mints and Do-Si-Do's are the only ones I bother buying.

I bet Samoa is angry that it sold the secret cookie recipe to the Girl Scouts. Think of how much money that country could be raking in all year long by selling its yummy treats directly to consumers.

Seriously, is there any point to eating any girl scout cookies besides Samoas?

And is there any point to ever eating less than a full sleeve of Samoas at a time?

Samoans are good at football, but they clearly are not great at business decisions.

Agreed, Samoas are the only thing that comes to mind when I hear the phrase "Girl Scout Cookies."

Now i'll leave and let all the "coconut is gross" people vent about Samoas.

My wife always orders these nasty chocolate covered peanut butter ones. Come June or so when all the Samoas are gone I end up eating them, but I don't enjoy it.

I wonder what the Tongans are like?

The Girl Scouts nixed plans to sell Tongans because they kept trying to fight with the Samoans.

Samoas are far and away the best. The only other worth getting is Thin Mints.

What did the monster say when he ate Tonga?

                  I want Samoa!

I don't order any cookie but the Samoas. This year my kids ate all the Samoas, so next year, I don't care if I do look gluttonous. I'm ordering a ton of Samoas.

I LOVE the "nasty chocolate covered peanut butter ones" aka Tagalongs.

I am not sure how the Tongans are but I can verify that the Hawaiians are delicious.

Do they go good with milk, too?

For a long time I thought that those peanut butter ones were galled "Tagalogs" I figured it was all they ate in the Philippines.

In a not so related story, my great grandmother from Hawaii used to send me and my siblings each our own package of Oreos at Christmas. I think she thought they were some Hawaiian delicacy. None of us had the heart to tell her you could buy them on the mainland.
