I know the answer to this is probably obvious, but is there anywhere decent to eat around here?

You let me down MG, you should eat all your meals in Spokane at Jack & Dan's Tavern. I thought you were the ultimate Jazz fan until 1 minute ago.Get confident, stupid

There are actually a few decent places in the downtown area, especially on the river. Clinkerdagger's is decent and in the spring during the run off, the view is impressive. I also like Wild Sage. It's more eclectic and artsy, but has some decent food. Twigs Bar and Bistro also has some good food and drink.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI know the answer to this is probably obvious, but is there anywhere decent to eat around here?A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

I'm going to try and make a visit there, but I don't want to eat dinner there.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostYou let me down MG, you should eat all your meals in Spokane at Jack & Dan's Tavern. Thanks dude. Someone else told me about this Clinkerdagger's place. I'll check it out. They have a Dick's with slightly less scary clientele than the one we drove by the other day...slightly less.

It is a horrible name and if you're solo you'll probably get stuck in at a crappy table. It's a weird building but decent food. I actually prefer Spencer's in the Doubletree Hotel if I'm going to get a steak.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostThanks dude. Someone else told me about this Clinkerdagger's place. You're only 30 minutes from Coeur D'Alene and there are some good places there also. Seafood in Spokane is vastly overrated. Especially if you're coming from Seattle standards.A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

Wild Sage looks like a solid option. What can you tell me about Mizuna? That looks good as well.Originally posted by CJF View PostThere are actually a few decent places in the downtown area, especially on the river. I really like the restaurant at the Couer D' Alene resort, which is about 30 min from downtown Spokane.

The clientele at Dick's the same wherever you go. It's like Wal-Mart that way.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostThey have a Dick's with slightly less scary clientele than the one we drove by the other day...slightly less.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I grew up in Spokane. Hay J's in Otis Orchards has some of our favorite food. Total unassuming and located in a strip mall but very tasty.
Downtown has some decent eats. Mizuna has good upper-end Greek food, Clinkerdagger's is solid, and the Steam Plant Grill is tasty.
The Valley has less but has one of my favorite Middle Eastern restaurants called Azar's.
Coeur d'Alene is lovely and has quite a few restaurants. Beverly's at the CDA resort is the only five-star restaurant in the area. I remember the venison being particularly tasty. The lower-end restaurant at the same resort, Dockside, is known for its massive ice cream sundae creations known as Gooies.
Let me know if you'd like more ideas.Last edited by Mrs. Funk; 01-31-2011, 05:16 PM."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

Solid. I think it is a little more pricey but in the same vein as Wild Sage, if I remember correctly. I never had to pay so I'm not positive on the price. It is good.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostWild Sage looks like a solid option. What can you tell me about Mizuna? That looks good as well.
There is also a little place on the other side of the hill. I can't think of the name but it is fantastic and you would never know it by looking at it. It on the other side of a strip mall parking lot. They make everything in house. They have great chocolates even. I'll see if I can find it on google.
