        • Nice! You know, I think those Traeger guys ought to give us some kind of kickback for helping them get so many sales.

A guy that works for Traeger. I forgot to ask him if he was okay with me letting others in on deals so I just sent him an email.

                • Which model did you buy? I can't read the blurry number on the box. Texas?

No (I know, I know), I got the Lil Tex Elite. It's big enought to smoke a whole brisket and still relatively portable should I decide to take it somewhere in the RV (Oregon State game).

                    • Very nice kc. We have you halfway to manhood now. Get yourself a truck and you can complete your journey.

I would strongly recommend you line your grease bucket with heavy duty foil. It makes disposal and regular cleaning much easier.

                      • Sounds like you got a great deal on it. Soon you will want a bigger one and you can sell this one for a profit!

I already want a bigger grill than the Texas

Is 50 sq. ft of cooking space enough?

                          • Doing work. Smoke setting settled in at around 175 degrees.

                              • So my next step is to get some firebrick and then see if I can get a better handle on the temperatures. Today I used a second grill temp to verify that the reading on my thermostat is correct, but I found that the grill ran hot.

On Smoke setting, it started high as I mentioned earlier but eventually settled down around 175. But when I did the last 45 minute cook, I set the knob at 225 but the readout consistently read around 250. I ended up turning it down a notch to 185 and that seemed to give me a digital readout that eventually settled in right at 225.

Is that a P-setting thing? I need to read up on that because I don't know what the different P-settings are changing.
