On DT's recommendation, I picked up one of these:

Pricey, but I love it."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

This is probably not what you want, but in any case it's what I use on my smoker.

I like that I can have the monitor in my house and know the temperature of the smoker and meat at the same time without peering out the window. Makes smoking and watching college football more fun."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

This. In addition, if you're doing something in the oven, you can leave the probes in and know when it's done, rather than having to continually open the oven to test it.Originally posted by Eddie Jones View PostThis is probably not what you want, but in any case it's what I use on my smoker.

That would be cool. I am not much for competition. I do it just to promote the art of smoking.
I am way out of practice. There, that should cover most excuses... lol Plus, your from Texas, so your brisket would automatically be better.
Seriously, someday I would love to compete, but competition bbq is a whole other beast."I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's a$$, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it". - Tommy Callahan III
