Who makes the best breakfast/brunch in Utah? Going to breakfast has always been fun. Probably started as a great excuse to skip classes. My wife and I really enjoy a good hearty breakfast out. While we're in Utah I'd like to try a few new places. Any suggestions?

Blue Plate Diner, there is no other place to visit. Get the daily special and it is all you can eat.Originally posted by CJF View PostWho makes the best breakfast/brunch in Utah? Blue Plate is the way to go. Their corned beef hash is fantastic. My other favorite is their french toast, which I order with walnuts and bananas. Hands down our favorite breakfast haunt in Utah. Expect a wait on Saturday mornings.
Some people really love Ruth's Diner up Immigration Canyon. Their biscuits to die for, but besides that, I haven't had anything there that is worth the hike.
Scaddy's stuffed Swedish crepes are surprisingly scrumptious. (Surprising in the sense that Scaddy's in Lehi is in a gas station and shares its space with a Taco Time.)
Kneader's does an all-you-can-eat French toast with served with whipped cream and housemade syrup. I can't remember if it's every day or just on the weekends. It's pretty tasty. The only annoying thing is that it stops at 10:30 or something, so for us late Saturday risers without kids, it's too late."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

Blue Plate is where I took my wife on our first date. Always a special place in my heart.
I also like Ogie's on about 3500 S. and Redwood Road.
But, since the thread-title refers to the entire state and not just the SL Valley, there's always the Market Cafe in Cedar City. There's nothing like listening to the livestock as you dig into some bacon."More crazy people to Provo go than to any other town in the state."

Yeah, I don't want just SLC. I'm glad Mrs. Funk added a place in Lehi. When I lived in Phoenix I would drive to Mexico every so often to hit up a taco stand. I'm not opposed to driving a few hours to find great food. So I'll try the place in Cedar next time we drive through or have a day to kill.Originally posted by Solon View PostMRD and I spent many a morning at OTC on 33rd. His mom used to have a store nearby.

The original Scaddy's location is located in Salt Lake. We've only been to the Lehi location, though.Originally posted by CJF View PostYeah, I don't want just SLC. If you're looking for anything farther south, the Bear Paw Cafe in St. George is really tasty and one of the only local places open on Sunday for breakfast."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge
