Great tip! I can't wait to try it. I'll have to go see Toy Story 3 first to get the NAME of the place, but that's easy enough.

Speaking of mom and pop restaurants in this city which shall remain nameless, I remember you posting about the Vietnamese restaurant there, but I can't find the post and I can't remember if you liked it or not. I've seen it a few times in my recent visits, and I've been debating whether or not to try it out.

Provo/Orem both have a ton of new pizza places. I like Pier 49 the best in Utah, but I also think if you are going for value Costco tops Little Caesars, Dominos, Pizza hut, etc. Papa Johns is a bit more pricey and I would put it a notch above Costco.

I agree. While not perfect, Papa John's is the best "chain" pizza, IMO.

Two more times than me. That place sucked. AFAIK, the best place to get pizza in Provo is Papa John's.

Nicolitalia is good. Run by a guy who grew up making pizza in his parents' Boston restaurant.

Fair enough. If it's not as good as FHL, then I have no reason to bother with it. I was hoping to introduce my parents to Vietnamese food there, but I'd rather wait and take them somewhere I know the food is good.

I made the mistake of taking my wife for her first Thai food at a place I'd never been (but had heard was pretty good). It was actually quite awful, and she has refused to eat Thai food based on that one experience.

I'd eat both at Slab and Terra Mia in Provo/Orem before eating most of the chain take-out pizza in the area.

Brick Oven is not terrible, but it's not good, either. I prefer Papa John's-- better crust, less grease. I've expressed before my appreciation of Domino's retooled pizza, though I know not everybody agrees.

That's my problem--I raved about Vietnamese food and promised that I liked it for more than just the name, and then took her to this place. Now she just thinks I like it as an excuse to swear.

I agree, and I think that makes Domino's the best deal out there. I can feed the whole ER staff on a Friday night for under $20.

The Papa Johns in Provo was pretty good. The one where I live is ghetto. I prefer Little Caesar's to it literally. Of the chains, my wife likes Hungry Howies the best. Domino's retooled pizza is pretty good, it's definitely better than Papa Johns and Pizza Hut at this point.

I'll continue the piling on, but the Brick Oven is really the Los Hermanos of pizza joints. For all these years, I've tried figuring how its fairly popular let alone even in business.

When in Provo I always liked Pier 49, but mostly because my wife and I ate there a lot when we were dating and I have a lot of good memories there. Though it's popular to hate the Brick Oven, I didn't mind the place. It's not great, but not horrible. It reminds me of BYU scout jamboree's when I was younger and we would go there afterward. I really like their root beer.

There are a few very good local chains that specialize in thin crust here in the Dayton area, though none are even close to a good New York style pizza. If anyone is ever in the Southwestern Ohio area I recommend Donato's or LaRosa's.
