No need to mess with a good thing, I suppose. I just like to try new bread recipes and was particularly impressed with the ease of this one given the delicious end product.Originally posted by beelzebabette View PostI'm torn. Recipes? Wow. That's hilarious. A pity your didn't dream reveal which is the superior brand!Originally posted by Donuthole View PostLast night I dreamt that I was attending a cooking show in person, and the faceless host was making bread as part of the show. He had two mixers (one Bosch, one Kitchenaid) on the counter, and when he was almost ready to add the dry ingredients to the mixing bowl, he intentionally elbowed one of the mixers and sent it crashing to the floor, where it shattered into pieces. The crowd cheered raucously, and it became clear to me that this guy's schtick was to place two competing brands of kitchen appliances on the counter and choose one to use. The one he didn't choose got knocked to the floor.
Sadly, I don't remember if it was the Bosch or the KitchenAid that he knocked to the floor. But I would like to thank Mrs. Funk for a memorable dream that I likely wouldn't have experienced without this thread."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

Like many others I grew up with my mom using a Bosch. She also had the grain grinder. This thread brought back memories of that high pitch squeal of the grinder. It was annoying as hell but the payoff was well worth it. Ahh, the simple days.
My MIL gave my wife/us a KitchenAid and she has been loving it ever since. Recently, the MIL hooked us up with this:

My wife loves it but the damn thing cleans the bowl so well that there is nothing let for me

It would "accidently" fall into the garbage. After 15 years of marriage, my wife understands that I only want 3 cookies out of each batch, but I expect them to be uncookedOriginally posted by FN Phat View PostLike many others I grew up with my mom using a Bosch. Thanks for the tip!Originally posted by Flystripper View PostMy mother who sold artisan bread out of our home all the while I was growing up prefers the Bosch. Take it for what it is worth.
I used the Bosch to make bread dough last night and man, it's so much easier than kneading by hand.
I may try the cookie paddles tonight and see how they handle chocolate chip cookies, too."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

I think Chris Bosch will test the free agent market this year. I think he's a good 600 watter if not 800.Last edited by clackamascoug; 04-28-2010, 04:56 PM.
