  • The new KFC "Double Down" sandwich

Has anyone seen this? It was originally thought to be an April Fool's prank but apparently it is a real sandwich.

    http://www.kfc.com/doubledown/

Two fried chicken patties, two kinds of cheeses, bacon, and special creamy sauce.

540 calories, 32G of fat, 1380mg of sodium! Gross!

No wonder we need universal healthcare. Sheesh, there are better ways of getting your calorie fix. That is an insane amount of sodium.

    Here are more pics

And a brief article about some food bloggers that were amongst the first to order one in a NYC KFC.

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/comm...be-buying.html

I think I will pass on the Double Down sandwich and say No to heart disease in the process.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Wasn't it less than a year ago that KFC was hyping themselves as healthy with their "Grilled Chicken"? The Colonel (I never understood how the spelling equals the pronunciation) is all over the map, faux healthy to belligerently unhealthy.

They seem to like it over on Ute Fans.

Just ate the double down from KFC.....

Although some just think it's Chicken Cordon Bleu.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

KFC has lost the plot. This...that disgusting looking bowl...who the hell is coming up with this stuff?
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

They're going the Taco Bell route. Try new things, and if anything is popular, bring it back and generate hype with it. If the new thing is gross, just replace it a month later with some other new wacky idea. It's worked really well for Taco Bell over the past 5-7 years. They've had some really unique menu items that you never would've expected to see on a menu, and that's been a bit of a hype machine for them.

Yeah I saw a segment on Headline News the other day; they were pimping the fact that you don't have the calories or white flour from a bun.

                Two slices of cheese, really?!?

Only 540 calories? You can eat that twice a day then.

Couldn't you do 3 and a half of them a day? Don't most people try to follow a 2000 calorie diet? If it is only supposed to be 1000 no wonder I am so damn fat.

Actually, I was shocked that the calorie content was so low. I was expecting it to be more like 800 calories or something. Not that I'm planning on partaking anytime soon, or ever really.

That's half the calories of even a bare-bones burrito from Chipotle or any of those places. That must be a tiny sandwich. Those pictures seem to confirm unless that guy has enormous hands.

Yeah, no kidding. 540 calories is a lot less than most of your fast food burgers.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Less than a straight Whopper. Same as a Big Mac. More than a Wendy's single. I didn't compare fat content or sodium, though, not that any of those things are going to be good for you.
