Applebees = TGIFridays = Chilis - Their food ALL tastes the same. My sister aptly calls it "Sysco Food"...

And I HATE, HATE, HATE Macaroni Grill...

I love the Jack Daniels sauce at TGIFridays. Everything else they serve is not good but that sauce is great.

I don't know that I would refuse to eat at any of them necessarily. I have to know who's buying before I rule them out.

It just seems that there are so may alternatives at the same price range and restaurant type that there doesn't seem to be any reason why you would have to choose to eat there.

Fazolis - (not sure here)
Little Caesars - Papa Johns or any local pizza place
Long John Silvers - Rumbi, Rubio, etc.
Skippers - see above
On the Border - ? (not sure here either, but you can get a plate of fajitas anywhere)

I'm going to have to plead guilty. I still love their chow mein noodle and orange chicken.

I still eat it too. Orange bread is yummy! I know this "chicken" is horrible for me, but I love to drench it in Sriracha sauce.

Upon further reflection it may just be that I love Sriracha sauce, rather than actually really liking panda's orange chicken.

I had the unfortunate experience of spending nearly 3 hours at Applebee's on New Year's day, right during the second half of the Duck Hunt. . . . er . . .Rose Bowl.

My MIL gave each of us a gift certificate there, so it didn't cost me but a few bucks out of pocket, but I'd have rather had a gift certificate to pretty much anywhere else. The Riverdale Applebees had a 50 minute wait when we arrived. Good heavens that is a long time to wait for TV dinner-quality food.

I played it safe and ordered the fried shrimp, which were about as average as I expected them to be. Also, my mashed potatoes had a really bitter taste, almost like they had a little bleach spilled in them. On the bright side, the spinach dip was pretty good. In sticking to my new year's resolution to drink no soda unless it is diet, I ordered diet mtn. dew (one diet drink I have never been able to stomach). Juxtaposed with the food, it the diet dew was actually pretty good.
