Drive up to Bountiful and eat at the Mandarin.

        • Gurkkahs opened up over 6 months ago in Millcreek. It took over the spot of Cafe Rio which moved a block east.

Its good. The owner was one of the guys who helped start up the Himalayan Kitchen in SLC. He then moved and opened up Kathmandu. This is his latest venture. It started off slow with customers but it seems to be doing quite a bit better.

Its Nepalese and Indian and I like it better than Kathmandu. The original Himalayan was great but has tailed off over the years...Gurkahs is a very good entry to the indian selection in the valley.

If you fall asleep in the restaurant, do they slit your throat?

Something I'd like to know about all restaurants before eating there.

              • White Horse has a really good reuben. They have a lot of ciders on tap if you are into that thing.

                Manoli's is really good.

Also, Honeysuckle Coffee in Sandy makes a cold brew/tonic drink that is fantastic. It is cold brew coffee, tonic water, grapefruit juice, and lavender bitters.

I didn't get the memo. Why shouldn't we be eating ruebens?

I'm into that thing. I'll have to give White Horse a try.

                        • Don't quote me on this, but I doubt it. With that said, I have not fallen asleep there yet, so I guess it is possible.

                            • I had a Jersey Mike's sandwich for the first time today. I thought it was pretty tasty.
