That place is pretty good! There's another location at The District in South Jordan. It's the only place I know of in the valley to get a Gino's East-Chicago-style deep dish pizza.Originally posted by The_Douger View PostLike the Pie, but there's a little place over in Draper that does Chicago Style Pizza that's called Sweet Home Chicago, and it's quite good.

Only lunch.Originally posted by kccougar View PostI've said it before and I'll say it again - never eat dinner at Pat's. Only lunch. And usually just lunch on Friday for burnt ends. Almost without fail, when I read a negative review of Pat's it comes from a dinner meal. I tried dinner there once, and it seemed like I got microwaved leftovers.
Only Friday.
Only burnt ends.
Got it.

Speaking of 'cue, I saw a sign Under the Bridge Downtown as I was heading back to the office. A place called Yo Mamma's BBQ has moved and is right off the West side of the North Temple overpass. Looks like I might have to check it out and then come back here and complain.

I don't smoke like you do, but tend to be a bbq snob as well. I've never had exceptional bbq west of KC. Too bad about the place in PC.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostHaving lived in Austin and having smoked at home for several years now, I am a hopeless BBQ snob. I wasn't impressed with the brisket, but I am rarely impressed with brisket at restaurants. I didn't have the ribs, but did like the pulled pork. I cannot remember much about the bbq sauce.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI agree with TD about Pat's. Not just a bad night, though I've never had the burnt ends. For BBQ, Sugarhouse bbq beats Pat's handily but wasn't great. Good enough to return.

Undercooked ribs, dry brisket, thin flavorless sauce. But the sides were OK.
Maybe I caught them on a bad night.

All I've eaten there is burnt ends on Friday. There's a rep that brings them in to work sometimes and I love them. I can't speak for the rest of their menu.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI made my first pilgrimage to Pat's 3-4 months ago. I like Bambara and The Dodo too.Originally posted by The_Douger View PostWe love Bambara downtown in the Hotel Monaco. We love Brio and Lugano for Italian in SLC. Franck's over in Knutson's Corner area is a real nice place as well, great food.
I like the Dodo, good sandwiches, interesting desserts.
My AP American History teacher in high school owned Nielsen's Frozen Custard, and I've always liked that place.

There's a little Vietnamiese place down the street from my work in Taylorsville called Pho Bien Hoa, and I thought their Pho was quite good. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/54/59162...Salt-Lake-City
I've lived here my whole life, and I think there's some awesome restaurants.
