A nice pepper jack would have been a good idea!

Pellets? Time and temp? This looks like something that is crazy and fun to make. I assume it is an appetizer of some sort? not an actual main course?
Hickory @ 225 so far. Looks like it will take 2.5 hours. I wanted to do a brisket, but when I went to Costco, they didn't have a packer. So yeah, this is it for today.

That looks awesome. If I made one, I would probably end up eating half of it myself, so I will hold off a while.

I'm full just from looking at the ingredients! Nice post; I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I was just at the store picking up ingredients for tomorrow's chicken cook and I was sorely tempted to pick up some stuff for a bacon explosion this evening. I had to rush out of there quickly.

Looking forward to some return and report.

Does somebody need to check on Coach? Maybe he lost portion control and is in a meat coma?

I'm okay. It wasn't bad. I would rather of had ribs or tri tip. Pics to follow soon with a longer explanation.

They are great with eggs over easy on top w/hot sauce for breakfast.

I didn't want to rain on your parade. They look a lot better than they taste in my opinion. Fun to try, but once was enough for me. Like you, there are lots of other things I'd rather smoke.

Just in case your heart hasn't already stopped from the other ingredients!

So I never finished posting on this subject.

I have to say that the bacon explosion is like a food item at chili's. It looks good on the menu but when you get it, well you know the rest.

More work than it is worth and the flavors just aren't there. I am sure Adam Richman would love it.

I would add what I would do differently next time, but quite frankly, there won't be a next time.

Phew. This is about food. I was worried that some friends may have spontaneously combusted.

I think that is the perfect description. Yours turned out beautiful. Fun to have done it once, but once is more than enough.
