Our Christmas Eve dinners have varied. My Mother-in-law really likes to have everyone over to her house. Decorating and entertaining is her thing, and I think she feels cheated if she doesn't get to host. Two years ago we tried to have a dinner at our home on Christmas Eve, and we could tell she wasn't happy about it.

Our rock-solid tradition has been Christmas morning breakfast at my parents, provided we were living in the same state or visiting for the holiday. Every year is exactly the same there:

      Sticky buns
      sausage (local Hi-Grade sausage req'd)
      fried eggs
      fresh-squeezed OJ
      homemade grape juice

This year my parents are on a mission in South Africa so we will be cooking our own breakfast - all of the above included, except the grape juice.
