  • The PS3 crew got together this afternoon and absolutely dominated. As a group we had a K/D over 2, and ran off something like 12 straight on TDM.

Black Ops is a much more fun game playing with a crew.

No. The second account is the same as it was in Halo, a guest account.

That was ridiculous, my last five games had KDRs of 6.33, 2, 4.8, 2.33, and 3.75. And I probably averaged 3rd on our team in performance.

That was awesome, definitely the most fun I've had playing Black Ops so far.

          • A few more observations.

If Black Ops was released last year people would have really enjoyed it and thought it was great. Then if last week MW2 was released everyone would be all over it and absolutely raving about the improvements that have been made. It seems that they released these in reverse order.

I do like all the new "lobby features" with buying attachments, creating your playcard, contracts, wager games etc. However it seems that they spent way to much time on these things as opposed to actually developing game play. Because the graphics are so much worse than MW2 it is almost impossible to see guys that are a long ways away and with the recoil of just about every gun it is impossible to stay locked on the target.

I am getting used to the different game play and the more I play the more I like it. I still think MW2 is much, much better but this game is slowly growing on me.

I agree with this for the most part. I still don't have the issues with recoil that everybody else seems to have.

I think you're right about the recoil with some of the guns. The MP5 is ridiculous. I've had fun using the AK74u, M16, and Galil though. I don't think the recoil on those weapons is too bad. I also think that it's less important to stay locked on target because it seems like the health is lower in BO than MW2, which makes kills much easier to get.
                Not that, sickos.

The best way around recoil, especially at long distance, is to "pulse" your trigger. Don't hold it down.

Maybe I don't notice recoil as much because the effect is less than my own movement in close to mid range engagements. I "dance" back and forth laterally and to some extent in and out - habit I have from Halo. It helps make other people miss and results in more one on one wins if you can keep your aim while you do it.

I've actually used the theater mode a few times to watch myself play as seen from the point of view of the people I kill and the people who kill me. Very educational and helpful in finding my own mistakes.

                  • The "grip" attachment is great for helping recoil, I use RDS and grip with AK74U and it works wonders.

                    • I am digging the game.

I run with Warlord Pro and have the silencer on almost every gun available. Distance is turned down a bit, but the recoil is almost completely gone.

Add to the fact that you can waste 3 guys in a room and no one hears you shooting.

All they need to fix are the connectivity/group issues and I am a happy man.

I still say that Nuketown is my favorite map. Give me some grenades, a claymore and the AK74 and it is go time.

That brings up another question I had: what pro perks have people unlocked so far? I have lightweight pro, warlord pro, ninja pro and slight of hand pro (that one was a doozy - you have to injure somebody, reload, and then finish them off 10 times as one of the challenges). Currently working on Ghost Pro, Scavenger Pro and Hardened Pro.

Some of the pro requirements are insane.

All I need for Ghost Pro is to destroy a sentry gun. But no one uses them. Everytime I hear "Enemy Sentry Gun on its way" I make sure I am running with a Ghost class.

                          Still no dice!

Good grief, that's going to take some time. What is the pro perk on that one? Same as MW2?

Faster ADS. Very useful. I actually managed to do it in about an hour of gameplay, but I was intentionally doing it. Shoot once, duck around a corner and reload, shoot again.

Tick, I am the same on Ghost Pro. I destroyed one the other day only to find that I had the wrong perks equipped.

                              • So apparently TreyArch is working on the matchmaking issues. After reading a few reports it seems they are more focused on fixing the PC version of the game first and then will work on the other platforms. Not sure when the patches are to be available, but I hope SOON.
