I'm the type of guy that's willing to do that.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I think that would be pretty fun. I am down for that. I however won't be on tonight but if I am not to tired and can find some time for a nap on Saturday, I will be playing Saturday night.

        • The idea behind the plan would be to figure out what large area (not small area - one well-placed noob tube and you are toast) is most defensible and then set up accordingly.

The easiest to do this on would be Afghan in the poppy fields. One guy in the small bunker sniping down towards the HMMVs. One guy to the right of the small shack sniping people coming from the hill. One guy in the corner down by the edge of the poppy field taking out people coming from the planes. One guy in the middle of the poppies taking out snipers on the big hill. One guy in the big bunker with claymores and shotguns - or waiting on the rockpile for people to come up the big bunker.

We'd always need somebody with a launcher at all times (I nominate JIC - he's speedy). It would also be helpful (if people are willing to sacrifice killstreaks) to have a couple of peope with sentry guns as their reward.

We could also do this up on the hill, but I think it's tactically a bit harder.

Rundown is another that would seem to set up well for this.

scrapyard and estate would work as well, to me.

              • I think we should try this out initially on just three maps or so: Afghan, Rundown and Skidrow. We should vote to skip any maps but those three just so we get more opportunities to try it out. If it works, we can develop strategies for the other maps - I have some ideas on Quarry, Invastion, Estate and Terminal as well, but they are not as developed.

I'll try to put together some maps and distribute. I'll try to put in some roaming roles for people who are more comfortable with that playstyle - but we can't roam recklessly or else the entire plan goes to pot, as it's all based around the tendency of players to come seek out the other team. PS3 guys, I guess you get the benefit as well.

                Initial thoughts generally:

                1. We need to vary our classes up to match roles - who here has any comfort sniping with a real sniper rifle? And who can use the LMGs? (I can the former, not the latter)

                2. Anti-air personnel, or at least somebody with a class they can go to quickly.

                3. Maybe somebody with a marathon pro lightweight clas - the guy who appears to get the other team to give chase.

                4. If any of us get a good killstreak (read: chopper gunner or AC-130) we need to let the rest of the team know so somebody can take the place of the person with the killstreak. I also think we should play with nukes on as much as we are comfortable - It's pretty probable that somebody is going to get a disproportionate number of kills and we can perhaps help people get to nukes.

                  • Thoughts on rundown:

This is on the side with that terraced estate and the long building in the middle.

One guy on the stairs Coach and I always fight for, guarding that bridge.

One guy on the second floor of the middle building covering the middle bridge, also watching the second floor of the building across.

One guy on the bottom floor of the long building guarding the third bridge and watching the other two common sniper spots - this guy has to have good eyesight.

One guy with a sniper rifle on the top floor of the building way in the back.

Two guys roaming the other side of the river in the weeds and around the radio tower - keeping to the periphery and not venturing into the street. Preferably ninja/cold-blooded, shifting position frequently.

That's just an idea. I can think of several others on this map.

                      1. I am halfway decent with my intervention and even picked up a little quick scope and no scope action. I think a few here like to run the Aug.

                      2. I hate, HATE carrying around that damn stinger.

                      3. A rabbit? or is this the run-n-gunner? If so, I am voting Phat.

                      4. I have been running Harrier, CG, Nuke for a month or so. Roger.

I am actually a little happy about this switch up.

                      • One thought is that the mounted guns may become a lot more useful if we are working as a team. I hardly ever use a mounted gun because they are vulnerable from multiple sides.

However, if the use of such guns were part of the gameplan and we were protecting the flanks and steering people into the right spots, the guy manning the mounted gun could clean up.

I think it will help our gameplay quite a bit. We've become good at knowing our styles and working loosely together as reasonable individuals. Now it's time to team it up - we play together often enough that we can put together a strategy. I'll make sure my brother knows what is going on too, since he plays a lot.

                          As for me:

                          1. I'm decent, but not great, with the Barrett.

                          2. I also hate carrying the stinger

                          3. More run-n-gun, but controlled. It's definitely a Phat thing.

                          4. I only switch off nuke when I am having a sucky night, like last night.

Good point. However, on Skidrow, we'd have to keep people off of the second floor of that middle building or else the gunner would be toast.

Note that I think the game might be a bit chaotic while we get to our positions - especially depending on where we start. It's also likely that we're going to have to subtly switch positions - maybe it makes more sense to talk in terms of area of responsibility than positions to stake out. How a person controls that area is up to him, as our gameplay styles are not all the same.

                            • I am good with the stinger. It slows me down but I need to stop running and gunning. I was good at that on Halo, but the skills havent translated very well. I need to learn to be more patient. Control a specific area. I like the apt. on Skidrow. I tend to play well on that board if I can get protected on the side that comes up from the street. The stairway is claymore heaven.
