Part of the problem is that few people watch many documentaries so they don't understand that there generally is a blatant agenda. Yes, MM is extremely biased. Those who watch MM movies thinking they're getting an unbiased look at the issue aren't any smarter thant Republicans who watch fox or Democrats who watch Olberman thinking they're getting anything like objectivity. The problem here isn't necessarily MM, it's the ignorant masses who think there's no agenda (or that there is one and that he's therefore a scumbag)

My position is that documentaries tend to be biased. If you'd stopped there, I would have agreed with you. But naturally you had to add a flippant tone and a sense of satisfaction with the status quo to my position that I don't agree with. This should have been obvious, but I imagine it's difficult for someone with your set of filters.

No. I don't think he presents false information. I think he presents ONLY the information that makes his case stronger. Kind of like lawyers and prosecutors. They don't point out things that weaken their case. Politicians do the same thing. I do the same thing at job interviews. I point out why I would fit into their operation, but neglect to tell them any faults I have.

Conspiracy theories abound about the reasons for the War on Terror, but none is more outlandish than the one propagandized in Moore’s film: that the Afghan war was fought solely to enable the Unocal company to build an oil pipeline (the plan for which was abandoned by the company in 1998).

Moore “suggests that one of the first official acts of Afghan President Hamid Karzai … was to help seal a deal for … Unocal to build an oil pipeline from the Caspian Sea through Afghanistan to the Indian Ocean. Unocal spokesman, Barry Lane, says unequivocally, “Karzai was never, in any capacity, an employee, consultant or a consultant of a consultant,” and Unocal never had a plan to build a Caspian Sea pipeline. Moore mentions that the Taliban visited Texas while President Bush was governor to discuss a potential project with Unocal.

While Moore implies that then-Governor Bush met with the Taliban, no such meeting occurred. The Taliban delegation did, however, meet with the Clinton Administration on this visit. This is a lie. It is not leaving out information that doesn't support his agenda.
