Anyone read "Theo of Golden"? I heard a lot of good things about it so I downloaded it, but man it is a slog so far.

I finished Flashlight by Susan Choi the other day. I really struggled at the beginning and hated the characters, but as it went on I really liked it. It was long, but it all payed off for me at the end.

Finally got around to finishing Dungeon Crawler Carl. It took me well past the halfway mark before I started enjoying it but I did finally get there. Fun read.

I know a lot of the love comes from the Audiobook. I enjoyed it.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostOk, I'm approaching halfway through Dungeon Crawler Carl and I think maybe this one just isn't for me. I'll finish, but I'm not seeing what everyone loves yet.

Currently listening to this one right now. Lots of familiarity...but also super all over the place. I'm about 1/4 of the way through it.Originally posted by BigPiney View PostI just got the new book from the the dungeon crawler carl author. Operation Bounce House. That will be my read this week.
I do like where it is going though.

I really liked both of those.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostJust finished The Tainted Cup by Robert Bennet. Sort of a fantasy murder mystery novel. My daughter recommended it to me. I was hesitant to read it because I was afraid of missing out on some arcane fact that the whole case rests on. But there were helpful characters that monologued about those facts along the way, so I didn't miss much. Good writing and a novel world. I recommend it for other fantasy nerds. I will continue on with the sequel A Drop of Corruption.

Isn't it great that we live in a country where you are allowed to have the wrong opinion that red rising is good? Makes me proud to be an American!Originally posted by The_Tick View Post
You are wrong as well. Crazy.
BP wants all dogs dead. So I already am skeptical of his reviews.

Same. As it is I forget when I’ve heard reruns of This American Life.Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post
I can only do physical copies or ebooks. My auditory attention is ass.

i'm the same, but I agree with Tick about Project Hail Mary. Most of the time, I need to go back and re-read stuff or dog ear pages for future reference.Originally posted by SteelBlue View Post

Physical copy or audiobook? This is one of those where audiobook is superior. By far. Jeff Hayes is amazing.
It took me about 4 chapters into the book to really get into it.
