Great acting by both Christian Bale and Johnny Depp. Depp actually got me to care about the John Dillinger character - only a little, but given Dillinger's nature, that's an achievement. Also, even though we all know how the story will end, there are several truly suspenseful moments. You can feel the tension the FBI agents and their quarry are feeling.

All in all, a great movie. Terrific summer entertainment to boot.
Wait a minute... Saving Private Ryan is a 10/10 on your violence scale? Goodness gracious, man... don't ever watch a Tarantino film!

The pawn shop scene in Pulp Fiction will send you screaming into the night if Shaving Private Ryan is a 10/10 for you.

And by telling me this you are trying to persuade me to see this movie?

You seem to be getting your personal collection confused with the public ones you admit to watching. I would guess the last 2 words would be switched with private being pluralized, but I'm too afraid to google and find out.

              Was that an intentional typo?

I think LA Ute has stated that he avoids such movies.

Yes, it was. I figured Shaving Ryan's Privates would be a dead giveaway.

I do. Mainly because when I have gone to anything like that (including Private Ryan) in the (now-distant) past I walk out of the movie feeling depressed and saying to myself, "You could have done without seeing that." At least the gore you deal with every day is the result of a benevolent intent!

Find it yourself. I'm not about to assist in that kind of depravity.
