So the kids don't relate to Holden because he is a wealthy anti-hero who uses dated words and phrases......but they relate to Harry Potter...an imaginary, broom-flying magician?

    Solid article.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

An imaginary, broom flying magician decked in tortois shell glasses and argyles attending a paranormal school for super elite Brits, the central character in a linear story line, who never knows true adversity, set back, tragedy or real confict.

Well he does give up ginny weasley at the end of book 6 to protect her ... I am mean that's pretty sad. Sure he gets her back but it seemed tragic at the time.

Perfect. I'm almost as likely to read that as I am Harry Potter. Spoil away.

                    Is "fuck" outdated? Who knew?
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

Kids these days want to be Edward Cullen, not Holden Caufield. It's just the way it is.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Backing up for a second here, I was just discussing with a friend in a grocery line over the weekend my complete disbelief of the whole Robert Pattinson thing. (He was on People's cover. Now love for Chace Crawford I can get on board with, but Robert Pattinson? I see nothing attractive there.
