Intriguing actors come and go. They start out with small parts which they round out in fascinating ways. If they catch on, they might get larger parts and even go on to starring roles. Sometimes they go Hollywood and become tiresome, like Lily James or Aaron Eckhart or Angelina Jolie. Sometimes they remain interesting even with fame, like Tom Hiddleston or Benedict Cumberbatch.
Who are your current intriguing actors-- the ones whose movies you will see no matter how small their parts are? My current list: Casey Afleck, Ben Whishaw, and especially Daniel Bruhl.
BBC America is running the most fascinating series starring Ben Wishaw called London Spy. It took me a bit to get over the fact that the protagonist is gay (this makes me sound so rigid but there is a lot of exploration of gay romance and love that I'm just not used to). It's compelling.
I wrote a short short story years ago that was very similar except the relationship was hetero and the protagonist was female. A pregnant female.
