Dying at age 69 is also wrong, although I understand it was from cancer. Ronson died at a much younger age, also from cancer.
And then guys such as Paul McCartney keep on performing.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Love that guy's music, but I can't really enjoy it after knowing the investigative tactics which were used in its creation.

A few lyrics from a couple of my Bowie favorites.

Fame, what you like is in the limo
Fame, what you get is no tomorrow
Fame, what you need you have to borrow
            Fame
            ......
I'll stick with you baby for a thousand years
Nothing's gonna touch you in these golden years,
            Golden years
“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

To quote Simon Pegg, " "If you're sad today, just remember the world is over 4 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie."
I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

I don't listen to much of Bowie's music, but I certainly respected him as an artist.

The greatest moment in his career is this:

I can't help but think Robert Smith is next.

That's funny. I remember watching that with my mom when I was about 12. She was disgusted by David Bowie, and swore that Crosby would never collaborate with someone like him. She claimed the video was a hoax.

Seriously kind of declasse to point out that Bowie doesn't play guitar at a time like this.

                            Hah!

Actually he's a decent guitar player.

Although not nearly as influential as his music career, he did have some acting chops. I only saw a couple movies with him in it, so I can't comment too authoritatively. But I did think he was solid as Tesla:
