Some thoughts I had while I was thinking about the ending of Season 1.

Nora's pain is really quite awful. In an instant of anger and frustration with her family, and wishing they were gone, she suddenly gets her wish. The reminder of this makes her grief at the end all the more deep.

Kevin didn't want his family anymore. But he changes his mind, repents, is reborn, and gets back basically what he had before, although in a different way.
    Another man's wife.
    Another man's child.
    His own child.

The one difference being his new child is the daughter of god, and clearly not his, unlike Laurie's son. I thought it was interesting how the police coming into get Wayne said something the Romans might have said about Jesus.

I can't get over how great season 1 was. It's right up there on my list.
    I intend to live forever.
    So far, so good.

Good Lord season 2 is fantastic. Only 4 episodes in, but I am really digging this.

Season 2 just ended ... it was really good. Huge improvement over Season 1 (which I was actually a fan of). If you gave up on the show after Season, I would highly recommend picking it up again. Best show of the year, by far (and I say that as a huge fan of BCS and The Americans).

I'm having a very hard time getting through season 2 as I want to savour it and make it last. Just finished watching episode 6, "Lens" on Sunday.
Season 1 was fantastic, but yes, season 2 is better.
That scene at the end with Erika and Nora where the camera kept getting closer and closer was something to behold. I really like the Nora character.
The content and presentation is excellent. Always makes me think for quite a while...

Best thing I've ever seen on TV.
*Haven't seen The Wire yet, watching Oz at the moment, and will probably move to The Wire when I finish.
          I intend to live forever.
          So far, so good.

Binge watched Season 2 this weekend. Wow does that show take strange to a new level. I enjoyed it but it sure leaves you confused at times.

Just finished season 3 last night. I had delayed watching the final episode for about 2 months because I didn't want it to end.

I may be suffering from recency bias, but that is the best thing I have ever seen on TV.
I can't stop thinking about the end of the episode, with Kevin and Nora, broken and honest, finally redeemed. The scapegoat leaving frame and the birds returning. Home.
                I intend to live forever.
                So far, so good.

I loved season 1 of this show, but took my time getting around to the next season. Just finished episode 5 (No Room At the Inn) last night. Really good so far, although the Matt and Mary Jamison story line is not my favorite (wasn't in season 1 either).

One thing I was actually really mad about was the change in the opening credits and theme song from season 1 to season 2. Not sure if they change again in season 3. I just thought the season 1 opening was so great.

Now I've grown used to season 2's opening credits, and I'm really digging it. The song (Let the Mystery Be by Iris Dement) is excellent, although I still think the tone of season 1 fits the tone of the show better.

Season 2 opening credits. I hate how you can't post more than one video at a time.

Spoiler: The theme song changes again for Season 3. I think if you are taken aback by the stark change each time the song changes, then they are getting the intended reaction.

The first few episodes of season 2 were a little jarring for me. But then it picked up steam fast. Season 2 Leftovers is one of my fav seasons of TV all time. Season 3 is up there as well. I didn't love the preacher at first, but he totally grew on me in Season 2 and forward.
