I was able to finally watch this documentary on the former NFL player for the NOLA Saints. The player who blocked the punt that many of us know as "The Rebirth".

What a powerful, emotional, inspiring, soul crushing, forever impacted documentary this is.

At 34 being diagnosed with ALS and finding out your wife is pregnant 5 weeks later has to be the ultimate feeling on each side of the spectrum. This video journal of his life dedicated to his son tugs at your heartstrings and allows all of us into his private life and battle of this terrible disease..

Take a moment and watch this documentary and I promise you will be left forever impacted by this strong and inspiring individual and his family (Mainly his wife).

    WOW!

Watched this. Didn't know the guy before watching but pretty impressive the good that his foundation is doing for ALS patients. What a terrible disease.

    • Watched the single season offering of "Family Tree" featuring Chris O'Dowd and the standard Christopher Guest cast.

The subject matter is perfect for Christopher Guest as anyone that is that into genealogy (e.g. to the point where you plan trips around genealogy) must be borderline mentally unstable. Too bad only one season as I thought it was really hitting its stride by the 8th episode. Disappointed no second season, but still was a fun watch.

Yeah I really enjoyed that show. Bummed there was no second session.

        • Sneaky Pete. Three episodes in, and I am loving it. Sat down to watch one episode at 9:00 last night, and grudgingly went to bed at midnight after watching 3, wanting to watch more.

There are quite a few recognizable actors from Justified. And with Brian Cranston, I can't help thinking of Breaking Bad a bit. Maybe that's why I keep accidentally thinking of the show as Skinny Pete.

The second season of Justified is one of my favorite seasons of television of all time. Up there with Season 4 of The Wire and the last few seasons of Breaking Bad.

When you finish Justified, you'll find yourself saying, "Well, Raylan" all the time.

Do I have to finish Justified before that happens?

Well, Pelado, if the Good Lord Hisself were to dispense with the unpleasantries of this mortal coil and anoint each of ours heads unto salvation, then perhaps that one evening I spent in a little no-tell motel down off I-75 with those Franklin sisters wouldn't be a constant millstone about my neck. No, the Son of Man has decided to forgive the unrighteous among us and save their ever-loving souls from the sulphur fumes of hellfire, yours truly included. Ergo, Raylan Givens ain't got nothin' on me, for my conscience is as clean as the counter in an optometrist's showroom, and neither he, the Long Arm, or the Velvet Glove are gonna make old Boyd Crowder return to his evil ways. No, sir. I'm as right as rain in the desert, and I shall yet blossom as the rose.

EDIT: I had a student named Raylan Jennings once.

At the height of Step by Step I saw her (Staci Keanan) once at Snowbird. She was more pretty IRL than on tv.

Now that I've finished the series, the name that seems to pop into my head out of the blue is actually Boyd Crowder.

I really enjoyed the first four seasons. Seemed like a big dropoff for the final two seasons, and I wasn't very satisfied with the "4 years later" ending.
