This one was the same way, it didn't show them eating the bananas but one time it showed a bunch of bananas laying on the ground. Give me some bananas, coconuts, water, a beach, warmth, some crabs and that girl two weeks ago to sleep by at night to stay warm I think i could last the three weeks.

I just watched the Nicarauga episode last night (I'm about two episodes behind). They built a shelter then later moved to the cave - and they did plenty of snuggling to keep warm. Is that the one you were thinking of?

It was the good-looking (well, at the start at least. They always look like hell at the end of the show - all dirty and bug-bitten) vegetarian girl with the bearded hunter dude. I thought they worked really well together. The dude tolerated her vegetarianism and she laughed about his cracks at her mother-nature spiritualism and they didn't seem to get on each others case.

I like the episodes where the survivalists work well together rather than bicker and fight the whole time. The episode with the two ex-military folks was almost unwatchable because they fought so much. The chick completely went off on her own on the very last day. I thought the dude had his failings on that episode but the chick was just completely unbearable.

That's the one. They didn't mention it, but at one point there was a picture of a big bunch of bananas. The editing and narration led the viewer to believe that they hadn't eaten anything for days.

EDIT: here's a pic of the unmentioned bananas

I agree with RC. Last night's episode was pretty tame. I can't believe she tapped out. Tons of food. They were eating sea urchin, crabs, hearts of palm, coconuts and bananas. Plus fresh water and reasonable weather. My favorite part of the episode was seeing his dad at the end. He was straight out of Jersey Shore.

Woah - I totally missed that shot of the bananas. Nice catch.

That clump of bananas seems like more food than other pairs had eaten the whole time in past episodes. You are right, it leaves me to wonder how much editing has gone on in past episodes and how much food or water they've really had.

I spotted that bunch of bananas too. Makes me think this show is probably edited like Bear Grylls' show which is disappointing.

The girl last night was kind of a mess. The guy was good and really pretty patient with her. The pool for guys as opposed to girls for this show must be about a 100 to 1 because the guys seem much more prepared.

Phaedra was born in Utah to parents who lived off the grid, embracing a communal, nomadic lifestyle. In 15 years, Phaedra moved 38 times from Alaska to Mexico and everywhere in-between. Her childhood was void of running water, electricity, doctors, and most modern conveniences.

As a child, Phaedra was raised to believe that as a woman, her only purpose in life was to serve a man. As a young adult, she was heavily influenced by religious pressure to fit a similar mold. Through a myriad of experiences and challenges, Phaedra broke away from these expectations to become the strong and determined individual that she is today.

I have direct knowledge that this is in fact the case. It's very hard to find women for this.

The people on this show just seem to keep getting weaker and weaker. You would think there would be an unlimited supply of survivalist willing to go naked and not eat for three weeks but perhaps not. The episode I watched last night they were at Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, which is just a giant sand dune in Brazil. It just looked awful.

I hypothesize that they're getting weaker not because of the limited supply of survivalists but because the weak contestants add more "drama" to the show in the opinions of the producers and thus provide the producers with more material to work with from a scripted story-line perspective. Like all reality shows, it is quickly devolving away from the original premise that made it interesting and turning into a scripted drama in a reality setting.
