Totally agree. She was awful. Embarrassingly bad. Shame it wasn't her on that catwalk.

I hear this almost universally from people who have seen it more than once.

I saw it twice and did not enjoy it more the second time. But obviously I liked it enough to see it the second time.

Speaking of that- I can't believe they eliminated some key dialogue between Snoke and Kylo Ren, where Snoke admonishes Kylo to not get sentimental with Han Solo because Vader and the Empire's downfall was literally attributed to a moment of sentimentality between father and son. I think that's pretty important to understanding the catwalk scene, but maybe I'm wrong.

I was impressed by her plastic surgeon, especially around the eyes. The lids and neck are where you can usually tell the difference between Hawkeye and Frank Burns

Why else do you think Han left Leia for the Wookie.

She was not good. And she did not look good, either. Lots of work done, but to no avail. It was made worse in my mind when I rewatched episodes IV and V with the kids earlier this week.

                    • I'm fine with her not looking good. She's not 20 anymore. Her acting was horrible. Stiff and mechanical. No emotion, no connection.

                      • I don't understand why Carrie Fisher was cast in the first place. She's 5'1 and Harrison Ford is 6'1. Mark Hamill is more average, but 5'1 is really short even compared to him.

You know who supposedly else auditioned for the role? Kim Basinger. And she's 3 years older than Fisher.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I agree that her acting was bad. In addition to that, her appearance was not a redeeming quality.

                              I beg to differ.
