The Lizzo episode I mentioned has an IMDB rating = 6.4. Killing it.

    • How much effing Star Wars content is there? It seems like every time I pull up this thread there is another 3-4 series that I've never heard of being talked about.

I don't remember there being much effing in Star Wars series.

The one episode you've been railing on is only a 6.4 (as support for an argument about how terrible it's supposed to be? Am I missing something?) and because of that you deem everything else but Andor trash. Seems like you're just loath to disagree with posters you like.

I am not sure I recall you ever saying anything critical about either Marvel or Star Wars. That is great - I am happy you enjoy all that content - I really am. Some people hate everything - some people love everything. Better to be the latter than the former. But your track record doesn't seem very objective.

I don't understand your last sentence at all.

Another 3-4 series? There are... 3 live action series total now(Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Andor), the limited live action series Obi Wan, and there was a limited animated series last year(Tales of the Jedi), in addition to 2 installments of Star Wars Visions, which is non-canonical anthology of Star Wars stories produced by Japanese animation studios. I assume you already knew about the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. There is quite a bit of content, but not quite as regular as that.

AA posts something saying he doesn't like all this new stuff and you're right with him, despite seeming to be just fine with most things prior-- (except that one episode of Mandalorian that is 6.4). You almost apologize for liking Andor, as you are kind of defensive in your praise of it.

My track record is plenty objective. I think this same thread has all my relevant criticisms if you care. e.g. Attack of the Clones was hellacious dogshit, but I enjoyed some aspects of it, and appreciate how Lucasfilm has rehabilitated it via its various animated series. I could certainly point to things in Marvel that are dogshit and how about 98% of the D.C. universe is complete, unfiltered dogshit, but I don't really go out on longwinded screeds explaining why I think that. I have definitely come to its defense when it comes to the argument that great cinema isn't being produced because of Marvel. But that's just because it's a facile, unsupported argument that is unfair to those filmmakers-- not because I love Marvel so much.

See,I don't tend to get so annoyed with this kind of popcorn content because it's primarily for children and I'm already playing with house money by enjoying it at all in the first place. That's why I roll my eyes at people swirling these series and smacking their lips like it's fine wine to be parsed for base notes and aftertaste. It's good clean fun and I agree with your take that there certainly are people that not only can't enjoy anything, but I don't just stop there-- I observe that they have to watch everything and loudly tell you why they hate it. Definitely more obnoxious than anybody who just likes everything.

Maybe that's the problem. I'm being forced into adulthood and I resent it greatly.

I was not apologizing for liking Andor! Not in the least. I have been a cheerleader from day 1 on that series. Partly because it is so different that the other formulaic star wars schlock that disney is cranking out. Can't wait for season 2.

Believe me, I have zero problem disagreeing with AA. I quite enjoy it actually - on the rare occasion that he says something dumb.

Doesn't exactly disprove his two-part thesis.

Andor series is among the best Star Wars productions ever. I will fight anyone who disagrees.

Everything else is trash right now. I think the Mandalorian S3E6 was the worst thing Star Wars has ever produced. Horrible writing, acting, plot, yada yada yada. Lizzo should be sued for her performance in that too.
I still haven't watched past S3E4 of Mando and I probably never will. I doubt I'll even try Ahsoka. I hated Kenobi and I loved Andor. Rogue One was incredible and I also loved The Force Awakens but I hated the Rise of Skywalker. Star Wars under Disney has been so hit or miss that if it's not getting rave reviews I will generally just avoid it.
